Former first lady Michelle Obama embarked on another “secret mission” as a gimmick to hawk the paperback version of her book, going undercover deep in the heart of Mitt Romney country.

A heavily disguised Mrs. Obama dropped by the King’s English Bookshop in Salt Lake City last week where she signed copies of her 2022 New York Times bestseller “The Light We Carry” and mingled with customers and shop employees while sporting dark sunglasses and black baseball cap.

The Democratic Party rock star posted a video of her perhaps not so “secret mission” to her Instagram page where her rabid followers ate it up.

The incognito Obama wasn’t fooling anyone as the shop’s customers quickly recognized her and took their own pictures and videos of their encounter with the ex-FLOTUS whom some have speculated will be parachuted in at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this summer to rescue the party from the deeply unpopular and rapidly deteriorating Joe Biden.

It didn’t help operational secrecy that the bookstore’s co-owner knew that Mrs. Obama would be dropping by in advance.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Anne Holman was notified of the visit due to the necessary security precautions.

“When she actually gets there, it’s really happening, it’s just so cool because she’s Michelle Obama, but she’s also someone that you could really be friends with,” Holman said.

The video shows Obama perusing a copy of the book by Washington Post columnist Michele Norris titled “Our Hidden Conversations: What Americans Really Think About Race and Identity,” another offering from the booming racism industrial complex that has made many rich while rolling back civil rights progress and dividing America. The author was described by Barack’s better half as “my dear friend.”

Obama was in town for the annual Qualtrics’ X4 Summit that was held at the Salt Palace Convention Center where she was one of the keynote speakers.

“Thank you so much for visiting us! We are honored and so appreciate your incredible support of bookshops and literacy,” the bookstore said in a comment on Obama’s video.

Holman said that the visit was gratifying and that “a lot of the people that were in there were young women. I’d like to think it’s life-changing, and she interacted with them. She talked to them. She gave them hugs,” the Salt Lake Tribune reported.

Mrs. Obama previously posted a video of another “secret mission” stunt to hawk her book after the paperback version came out last month, stopping off at a Target location in the St. Louis, Mo. area where she was in town for an event.

“Drawing from her experiences as a mother, daughter, spouse, friend, and First Lady, she shares the habits and principles she has developed to successfully adapt to change and overcome various obstacles—the earned wisdom that helps her continue to ‘become.’ She details her most valuable practices, like ‘starting kind,’ ‘going high,’ and assembling a ‘kitchen table’ of trusted friends and mentors. With trademark humor, candor, and compassion, she also explores issues connected to race, gender, and visibility, encouraging listeners to work through fear, find strength in community, and live with boldness,” the Amazon description of Obama’s book reads.
