In 1970, George Wald, a Nobel Prize winner and a Harvard biologist, said humanity would cease to exist by 1985 – the very latest. The Boston Globe also said we would have a new ice age by the 21st century. In 1975, Newsweek indicated we would have a “drastic decline in food production.” In 1989, AP indicated that “entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.” In 2006, Al Gore claimed humanity would hit a “point of no return” by 2016.

As you can tell, the left has been fear-mongering its climate alarmism for decades. And to this day, every prediction these people have made has been wrong. Therefore, no one should EVER listen to a thing they say considering their abysmal track record. Quite frankly, it would be insane to listen to anything these people say considering they have never gotten a single thing right. Nonetheless, that won’t stop them from doubling down on their asinine predictions that will likely never come to fruition.

Now they claim we only have two years left to save the planet from destruction.

According to AP News:

Humanity has only two years left “to save the world” by making dramatic changes in the way it spews heat-trapping emissions and it has even less time to act to get the finances behind such a massive shift, the head of the United Nations climate agency said.

In other words, if people don’t start forking over cash to unelected bureaucrats, it will be all your fault that the government could not save the planet from blowing up. Does that sound like “science” to you? It shouldn’t because it’s the most unscientific thing someone can say.

It’s logically equivalent to saying, “Pay me $100 and I will be able to control the wind.”

With governments of the world facing a 2025 deadline for new and stronger plans to curb carbon pollution, nearly half of the world’s populations voting in elections this year, and crucial global finance meetings later this month in Washington, United Nations executive climate secretary Simon Stiell said Wednesday he knows his warning may sound melodramatic. But he said action over the next two years is “essential.”

Anytime a bureaucrat uses the word “essential,” it is actually “unessential.” And I think we all learned from the Panny D that once the bureaucracy starts labeling things and people as “essential” bad things happen.

If emissions of carbon dioxide and methane from burning of coal, oil and natural gas continue to rise or don’t start a sharp decline, Stiell said it “will further entrench the gross inequalities between the world’s richest and poorest countries and communities” that are being worsened by climate change.

There you have it folks – a de facto admission that climate science is synonymous with political science. He basically said that everyone should be equally poor to save the planet. That makes absolutely no sense. And the last thing people in third-world countries are worried about is climate change.

Climate Analytics CEO Bill Hare said Stiell was “listening to the science” — namely that global emissions must be halved by the end of the decade to meet the Paris climate accord’s ambition of capping global temperature increases to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit).

When the left demands you “listen to the science” they actually just mean acquiesce to the arbitrary demands they made up. According to Hare, “listening to the science” means meeting the recommendations of the Paris Climate Accord, which is just something these people randomly made up.

No matter how much the government taxes us, there is no way bureaucrats can control global temperatures by 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit. And no one even cares about such a minimal increase in temperature and I am sure the public would actually prefer it if it got a bit warmer.

That being said, just like every other climate doomsday prediction the left has made, this one will also not come to fruition. And it’s pretty ironic that the more the left screams about something and the more money they spend on it, the worse it makes everyone off. I wonder why that is.
