A number of recent surveys have found that most voters believe former President Donald Trump can better handle the issues that are most important to them heading into the November election than an increasingly feeble-looking President Joe Biden.

A recent NBC News poll, for example, found that inflation and personal finance issues are the top concerns for most voters heading into the election. The majority of respondents believe that Trump would be better equipped to handle this issue than the current president.

When asked about their preference for handling the issue of rising costs, 52% of respondents indicated Trump over Biden. Just 30 percent of likely voters said they believe Biden can better address that issue, even as inflation has become a hallmark of his presidency.

Fox News added:

The survey also found that the crisis at the southern border is the second most important issue to voters, another area where Biden was found to trail Trump.

When asked about their opinion of the president’s handling of immigration and the crisis at the border, a whopping 69% of respondents said they disapprove of Biden’s handling of the crisis.

The April NBC poll did not inquire about respondents’ current views on Trump’s handling of the immigration crisis. However, a January NBC survey revealed that 57% of respondents preferred the former president’s approach to the border issue, compared to only 22% who favored Biden’s approach.

That said, the poll also found that if the election were held today, Trump would only beat Biden by 2 points, 46% to 44%.

“The results are the most recent in a string of polling that shows voters are not only most worried about the border and rising costs, but that they trust Trump to be the best presidential candidate to handle the issues,” Fox noted. “Recent Fox News statewide surveys in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin mirrored the results that Trump is the preferred candidate to handle the issues of immigration and the economy over Biden.”

Moreover, a recent Axios/Ipsos survey discovered that 42% of Latino voters perceive Trump as beneficial for the economy, whereas only 20% held the same view about Biden. Concerning immigration, 29% of Latino respondents rated Trump positively, compared to 22% who favored Biden.

NBC’s Steve Kornacki and Meet the Press host Kristen Welker responded to their network’s survey with a measure of surprise as they discussed the results on Sunday.

We talk about the erosion for Biden, and now you start to see it. Look at these numbers,” Kornacki said while reacting to the latest survey.

Trump also scored well when respondents were asked about mental and physical health. Forty-five percent of respondents expressed more confidence in Trump’s cognitive ability compared to Biden, who garnered support from just 20 percent of respondents.

When asked which candidate was the most “competent and effective,” 47 percent of respondents selected Trump, while 36 percent selected Biden. “And we actually polled this question in 2020, and it was basically the exact opposite. It was Biden with about a 10-point advantage over Trump,” Kornacki noted, eliciting a “Wow!” from Welker.

And again, same with handling a crisis. Biden had the edge over Trump. And how about this? It’s the former president, the current president. We don’t really see matchups like this. Well, now we can measure it,” Kornacki continued.

Those surveyed also chose Trump over Biden when asked which of the two had a better record as president.

And again, Trump outpacing Biden on that front. And again, you’ve got to mention this one too. Necessary mental and physical health. We asked this four years ago. It was a wash. It’s now a clear liability for Joe Biden,” Kornacki told viewers. “So these are all troubling numbers for Biden.”
