House Speaker Mike Johnson has ignited even more heated backlash for fundraising for a Republican candidate who unloaded a shocking rant against colleagues he referred to as “scumbags.”

After the weekend vote to pour another $60 billion into Ukraine’s pockets, Johnson has come under fire from many in the GOP caucus. Amid threats to vacate the speaker’s seat, Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) took his meltdown over to CNN where he proceeded to bash his colleagues.

Gonzales threw party unity out the window as he spoke with CNN’s Dana Bash, angrily defaming Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and Bob Good (R-Va.) as he blasted those critical of Johnson.

“So, you voted yes on the foreign aid package. Do you have confidence that at this point, given that it is still possible that Marjorie Taylor Greene will push to vacate, to kick out of the Speaker’s chair, that he can survive?” Bash asked on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“He will survive. Look, the House is a rough and rowdy place, but Mike Johnson is gonna be just fine. I served 20 years in the military. It’s my absolute honor to be in Congress, but I serve with some real scumbags. Matt Gaetz, he paid minors to have sex with him at drug parties. Bob Good endorsed my opponent, a known neo-Nazi,” Gonzales declared.

“These people used to walk around with white hoods at night. Now they’re walking around with white hoods in the daytime. Look, it didn’t surprise me that some of these folks voted against aid to Israel, but I was encouraged to see by a nearly 10-to-1 mark that Republicans supported our allies on the battlefield,” the two-term congressman added.

“Wow, ok, I should say that the federal government did look into Matt Gaetz and those allegations and they decided not to prosecute,” a surprised Bash responded.

Gonzales is facing off against conservative social media influencer Brandon Herrera in next month’s primary runoff and his opponent called out his vile attacks on X.

After the dramatic CNN exchange, reports emerged that Johnson was headed to Texas to fundraise for Gonzales.

Herrera, who was endorsed by both Gaetz and Good, also won the support of Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.) who slammed Gonzales’s comments as “such BS and so pathetic.”

“This is such BS and so pathetic, especially from a fellow veteran. To insinuate that other members are klansmen because they call you out for being a complete and total Rhino. Wasn’t one of our core values Honor @TonyGonzales4TX? Hey Brandon, add me to your list of endorsements. We will never save the country with guys like Tony,” he wrote on X.
