Singer John Legend thinks that former President Trump isn’t being politically persecuted but is instead benefitting from a “two-tiered” legal system.

Numerous leftists, including Legend, are making the claim in a desperate attempt to deflect from what critics say are brazen efforts to nail Trump and remove him as a threat in the 2024 presidential race.

Legend made the comment during an interview with former Joe Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki on her MSNBC show. His full interview is set to air on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki” on Sunday at noon Eastern time.

“Trump, the presumptive presidential nominee of the Republican Party, is facing dozens of indictments and multiple legal battles while campaigning for his race to the White House, with his hush money trial starting this week. Legend, a critic of Trump, argued the former president is part of a two-tiered justice system but that it is one from which he is benefiting,” the Washington Examiner reported.

“He is getting way more concessions than the average criminal defendant would get,” Legend contended during the interview. “He’s getting delays, he’s got access to all kinds of lawyers that are filing this and filing that, delaying every trial, and most people don’t have access to that kind of lawyering, don’t have access to the kind of concessions that the justice system will provide to you if you can afford it.”

The singer has long hated Trump.

“In 2019, Legend stressed the need to vote Trump out of office, calling him ‘a flaming racist’ and ‘a piece of s***.’ The singer’s comments were made after Trump criticized the living conditions of Baltimore and said that then-Rep. Elijah Cummings, a Democrat, could spend more time in his city to help clean it up,” the Washington Examiner recounted.

Trump’s sons have both blasted the left for its witch hunt against their father. Eric Trump asserted that the legal warfare being waged against Trump is simply making him “stronger.”

Legend and a number of other big-name leftists are taking “Trump Derangement Syndrome” to new lows. They have thrown everything including the kitchen sink at Trump in an attempt to convict him of something but their efforts are making him even more popular.
