Former President Donald Trump warned the “radical lunatics” who are hounding him in court to “be very careful with what they’re doing.”

The embattled GOP presidential candidate called into Newsmax’s “Greg Kelly Reports” on Thursday and was reminded of his epic response in 2016 to Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

“It’s just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country,” Clinton said during one of the debates.

“Because you’d be in jail,” Trump famously snapped back.

“I think you locked up the election with that moment,” Kelly told Trump.

“But you didn’t follow through on that,” the host continued. “Yet, they are trying to put you in jail. Now, my question is, you were asked about that. You said, ‘Look, these are good people. I don’t want to hurt them.’ And I kind of thought that was a very honorable thing to say.”

“What happens if you become president again regarding them and the rest?” Kelly asked.

“Well, let me tell you, I didn’t want to,” Trump replied. “I thought it would be a terrible thing, and there were opportunities, obviously, and good, strong control. Everything was good, but I did not want to. And I thought it would be a terrible thing for our country.”

But things have changed since 2016.

“They don’t care,” Trump stated. “These people are radical lunatics. They don’t care, and they have to be very careful with what they’re doing because it comes back to bite.”

Trump repeated that locking Hillary up would have been “a horrible thing to do.”

“But they don’t mind doing it,” he added.

Though Hillary was “quite nasty,” Trump said, locking up “the wife of [former President] Bill Clinton would not have been a nice thing to do,” Trump stressed.

Trump, who is facing criminal charges in two cases for daring to question the integrity of the 2020 elections, highlighted the left’s hypocrisy.

“By the way, to this day, she talks about the election,” Trump said. “Nobody goes after her.”

“They go after conservative Republicans,” he said. “They go after Christians.”

Trump told Kelly that he’s encouraging the Republicans to “start fighting, because you’re not going to have anything left if you don’t.”

“They’re realizing they’re going to have to get tougher,” Trump said. “And they will. It’s happening.”
