Former President Trump has been hit with a second gag order fine of $1,000 in his New York trial and the judge is threatening to throw him in jail, although he claims it’s the “last thing I want to do.”

Trump was slapped with $9,000 in fines by Judge Juan M. Merchan last week for nine alleged gag order violations concerning inflammatory comments about witnesses made in April.

“Defendant is hereby put on notice that if appropriate and warranted, future violations of its lawful orders will be punishable by incarceration,” Merchan wrote.

“Prosecutors in Trump’s hush money trial are moving deeper into his orbit following an inside-the-room account about the former president’s reaction to a politically damaging recording that surfaced in the final weeks of the 2016 campaign,” the New York Post reported. “Hope Hicks, a former White House official and for years a top aide, is by far the closest Trump associate to have taken the witness stand in the Manhattan trial.”

“Her testimony Friday was designed to give jurors an insider’s view of a chaotic and pivotal stretch in the campaign, when a 2005 recording showing Trump talking about grabbing women without their permission was made public and when he and his allies sought to prevent the release of other potentially embarrassing stories. That effort, prosecutors say, included hush money payments to a porn actor and Playboy model who both have said they had sexual encounters with Trump before he entered politics,” the media outlet claimed.

“I had a good sense to believe this was going to be a massive story and that it was going to dominate the news cycle for the next several days,” Hicks admitted concerning the “Access Hollywood” recording. “This was a damaging development.”

Hicks’ testimony reportedly backfired on prosecutors as she became emotional and shredded their star witness Michael Cohen’s dubious credibility. Trump’s former lawyer and personal fixer has previously pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the hush money payments. He has been caught in numerous lies.

This is the third week in Trump’s trial. So far, the prosecution has presented precious little evidence of actual wrongdoing on the former president’s part.

Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in connection with alleged hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels — prosecutors claim the Trump Organization reimbursed Cohen for the payments, alleging that the transactions were falsely logged as legal expenses.

The former president has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and has fervently denied alleged sexual relationships with the women accusing him.

“So far, jurors have heard from witnesses including a tabloid magazine publisher and Trump friend who bought the rights to several sordid tales about Trump to prevent them from coming out and a Los Angeles lawyer who negotiated hush money deals on behalf of both Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal,” the Post reported.

Trump’s attorneys have done a stellar job so far in the courtroom on his behalf. The outcome revolves around a potentially tainted jury. The lawyers are hammering the credibility of the prosecution’s witnesses while deconstructing the case against the former president.

The prosecution has taken charges in the case against Trump that have long since passed the statute of limitations and is attempting to tie in the alleged payments with election tampering. Many consider it an outright abuse of the law, a stretch beyond belief not to mention an incredibly weak case.

Trump is appealing the gag order, asserting that it violates his First Amendment rights. His attorneys claim the former president is not “willfully” violating the order.

“In arguing against the order Thursday, Trump’s attorneys raised remarks made by President Biden at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner, in which the president jokingly lamented that Trump had recently faced ‘stormy weather’ — a reference to Stormy Daniels, the adult film actress paid hush money at the center of the case,” The Hill reported.

“Judge, last weekend, President Trump’s rival, President Biden, said in a public forum — he talked about this trial, and he talked about a witness that’s going to be in this trial,” Trump attorney Todd Blanche contended. “He mocked President Trump.”

He argued in front of Merchan that Trump is not being allowed to respond to Biden’s attacks “in the way that he would want to” because of the gag imposed on his speech.

“He’s running for president,” Blanche pointed out. “He has to be able to speak.”

Merchan responded that the gag order does not apply to Biden’s remarks.

“He’s certainly allowed to respond to something said by President Biden,” the judge speciously informed the attorney.

“This gag order is totally unconstitutional,” Trump stated previously. “I’m the Republican candidate for president of the United States … and I’m sitting in a courthouse all day long listening to this stuff.”
