A man will likely spend the rest of his life in prison and undergo surgical castration after raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.

According to People:

A Louisiana man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison and will be physically castrated after pleading guilty to raping a 14-year-old girl, District Attorney Scott Perrilloux announced.

On Monday, Judge William Dykes sentenced [Glenn] Sullivan to 50 years in prison and mandated him to be physically castrated, which was part of his plea agreement with prosecutors, Perrilloux said in the statement.

“I want to say I’ve had three people ordered to be chemically castrated but, to my knowledge, this is the first physical castration to be ordered,” Assistant District Attorney Brad Cascio, who prosecuted the case, said, WBRZ reports.

Besides the death penalty, this is likely one of the most fair punishments the judge could have handed him.

People who are convicted of raping children should always be castrated and/or sentenced to death. That is one of the worst crimes one can commit.

“I felt that this case was a strong enough case and warranted such action,” Cascio said in the statement.

Later adding: “Sex crimes against juveniles are the most malicious crimes we prosecute. I intend on using every tool the legislature is willing to give us, including physical castration, to seek justice for the children in our community.”

A DNA test identified this man as the suspect, and it was later discovered that he used threats of violence against the victim and her family to have her keep quiet.

In other words, this man is a monster and got what he deserves. Although, it would be even more fair if he were to endure the surgery with no anesthesia or pain medication.

“So many of these types of cases go unreported because of fear,” he said. “The strength it must have taken for this young woman to tell the truth in the face of threats and adversity is truly incredible.”

Child rapists should always be given the death penalty. That should not be up for discussion and it’s unfathomable that someone would argue otherwise. The most important obligation of society is to protect children. And these crimes have a life-long, negative effect on the child – both psychologically and physically. Every single state should hand out the death penalty for these indefensible crimes.

According to Panthernow:

Though there is not a ton of research on the subject, it can be assumed that, if the punishment for murder is the same as the punishment for child rape, rapists have no incentive to keep their victims alive. In fact, fear of legal repercussions could potentially make the rapist all the more likely to end their victims’ life to ensure they get rid of the evidence.

That as well as the “possibility” of fake convictions, is the best a staff writer at Panthernow can do to advocate against death penalties for these evil crimes. What these people seem to believe is that child rapists will be incentivized to murder because of this. But that is not how things work. An increase in punishment is a crime deterrent. But a lack of accountability creates a culture of lawlessness, which is exactly why these people need to be held up to the fullest extent of the law possible.

When predators are faced with the possibility that their actions may result in death, that will obviously decrease the chances of these things happening. But many people disagree with that, especially many of the left. And that is unjustifiable, at best.
