Europe has a problem. It has allowed millions of immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa, and most of those immigrants have not assimilated and are not interested in assimilating. Too many of them refuse to adapt to the cultures of the European nations, instead clinging to the norms of the countries they supposedly fled to come to Europe as asylum seekers.

One of them, Ahmed Ali Alid, has been convicted of murder in the United Kingdom. He claimed his rampage was “for the people of Gaza.”

A Moroccan asylum seeker has been found guilty of murdering a stranger in a rampage motivated by the conflict in Gaza.

Ahmed Ali Alid, 45, attempted to kill his housemate, a Christian convert, stabbing him in his bed as he slept.

He then prowled the streets of Hartlepool until he came across Terence Carney, 70, who was out for a morning walk, attacking him and stabbing him to death.

He told police the attack, a week after the Hamas attacks on Israel, was “for the people of Gaza” and he had wanted to kill more victims.

Alid had initially entered the UK illegally, claimed he was seeking asylum, and was allowed to stay, being housed at taxpayer expense — sort of like the United States is doing with millions of unvetted, unscreened, unknown immigrants.

Alid also has a long history of bumming around Europe, after claiming to have “problems” with Morocco’s intelligence services.

Alid, who said he left Morocco in 2007 after having a “problem” with the intelligence services, spent time in 13 different European countries before arriving in Britain.

Alid first arrived in Cadiz, Spain in 2007, and then travelled to France, Italy and Greece before returning to Italy where he lived and worked for nine months.

From Italy, he moved to Germany, where he lived between 2009 and 2011. He applied for asylum in Germany and was refused.

His story goes on from there and ends up with his attacking a roommate who had converted to Christianity and then murdering an old man in cold blood. For the people of Gaza. His statement. His words. His admitted motivation.

While making his statement to police, Alid concluded his interview by attacking two female officers, shouting “Free Palestine” and “Allahu Akbar.” But here’s the real kicker:

Asked if he intended to kill more people, Alid said: “I swear by Allah if I had a machine gun and I had more weapons that they would be in thousands.

“I was going to contact someone to get me a machine gun and I would have done more and then that person told me to carry on with the knife.”

There’s an obvious question here, and that is: Who was he talking to that told him to carry on with the knife? Unless Alid is conversing with the voices in his head, which I wouldn’t find surprising, there is someone else out there who would happily encourage more people to carry out random murders.

Make no mistake about it: This will happen here, in the United States. We have set ourselves up for it. Our government, just in the last, oh, three and a half years, has allowed in millions of people, the vast majority of whom are unscreened, unvetted, unknown. We have little or no idea who most of them are, where they intend to go, or what they intend to do. The only ones whose locations we do know are the ones we are housing at taxpayer expense, and who are complaining bitterly as to the quality of their taxpayer-funded food and housing.

If 1 percent of the people who have illegally entered our country in the last three years are walking counterparts to Ahmed Ali Alid, then we have thousands of ticking time bombs walking our streets right now. That’s a frightening thought.

This will happen here. Right here, in the United States. It’s only a matter of time.
