More than 100 people were arrested as NYPD officers moved in to break up an anti-Israel encampment on the campus of Columbia University after getting the go-ahead.

The protests had become an embarrassment to the elite Ivy League institution of higher learning which, like Harvard, is crawling with Jew-hating terrorist sympathizers, and on Thursday, campus administrators had finally had enough.

NYPD cops wearing riot gear began to clear the campus, taking troublemakers into custody and packing them into buses to be transported to the precinct and, although greatly outnumbered, the demonstration remained largely peaceful – for now.

“I applaud the cops. They are doing the right thing,” a Columbia student who declined to be named told the New York Post. “We don’t feel safe. We fear for our lives.”

“Remember who started this? Hamas, that terrorist group,” the 20-year-old added. “We pay a lot of money to come here and we should feel safe and protected.”

The protest was to demand that the university divest investments from Israel which is currently engaged in a war against the Hamas terror organization which massacred over 1,200 of its citizens in a raid on civilian areas on October 7, 2023.

Since the Jewish democracy began its military operation in Gaza, agitators have whipped up young and gullible college students with the latest example being the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” on Columbia’s New York City campus.

“Out of an abundance of concern for the safety of Columbia’s campus, I authorized the New York Police Department to begin clearing the encampment from the South Lawn of Morningside campus that had been set up by students in the early hours of Wednesday morning,” university President Minouche Shafik said, informing students that he had invited NYPD.

“I regret that all of these attempts to resolve the situation were rejected by the students involved. As a result, NYPD officers are now on campus and the process of clearing the encampment is underway,” Shafik said.

The NYPD officers met little resistance from students other than being hatefully insulted, with one police official saying that cops were told that they were the “KKK” and “baby killers” and to “go kill themselves,” Fox News reported. “It was very sad to see,” he said.

“It’s very troubling when you protest protesting for peace. You should not be using inflammatory comments like we saw. It was very vile,” New York City Mayor Eric Adams said.

Among those who ended up in cuffs was Isra Hirsi, the agitator daughter of antisemitic “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) who had been suspended from Barnard College where she is a student for her role in the Columbia protests.

“those of us in Gaza Solidarity Encampment will not be intimidated. we will stand resolute until our demands are met. our demands include divestment from companies complicit in genocide, transparency of @Columbia’s investments and FULL amnesty for all students facing repression,” the spawn of the Somali-born Democrat wrote on X.

“New York City Police violently arrested over 120 students and at least two legal observers for participating in a peaceful campus protest in support of Palestinian freedom — one of the largest mass arrests of student protesters since the start of Israel’s brutal genocide in Gaza,” Columbia University Apartheid Divest, a coalition of anti-Israel student organizations said.
