The House of Representatives has just passed a rule that will allow them to bring the separate foreign aid bills to the floor for a debate and a vote.

The vote was a test to see if Democrats would come to the aid of Speaker Johnson to help him pass the aid bills and, perhaps, help him keep his speakership if a motion to vacate is brought to the floor.

As reported, 165 Democrats voted with 151 Republicans to pass the rule allowing the bills to come to the floor. The Freedom Caucus says a speaker has never done this before with a ‘rule’ vote.

Here’s how the vote breaks down:

The vote on the aid bills will come tomorrow and if MTG and Massie put the motion to vacate on the floor, Johnson will likely delay it for two days in order to get past this vote.
