A British asylum-seeking migrant who had his deportation blocked by a leftist Air France cabin crew that wouldn’t allow his flight to take off is now pleading guilty to raping a 15-year-old girl.

The 40-year-old migrant’s name is Anicet Mayela. At one time, he ironically gained notoriety for protesting outside a detention center, holding a sign that declared “MIGRANTS ARE NOT CRIMINALS.” Now, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

The Sun is reporting that Oxford Crown Court got wind of there being an elevated level of “dangerousness” during the sexual assault committed by the former economics student. That seems like an obvious assessment considering the vicious violence that rape entails.

“The Congolese national claimed his life was at risk when he paid an ‘agent’ to smuggle him out of the African country, arriving in the UK in 2004,” the Daily Mail reported.

The first attempt at deporting Mayela fell through 20 years ago after the migrant claimed he was hurt in an isolation cell at Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centre near Heathrow Airport. He was then transferred to Campsfield House Detention Centre in Kidlington. That’s where he posed with his sign after his release.

“A deportation flight was planned for May 2005, but the removal was foiled by Air France crew, who stopped the flight taking off from Southampton,” the Daily Mail wrote.

The Sun noted that there was a claim by the crew that the deportation minders taped Mayela’s legs together and handcuffed him, resulting in his hand being broken.

“A source close to Home Secretary James Cleverly said last night that action by people ‘with no knowledge’ of those for who ‘they suddenly decide to intervene… can have appalling consequences for others,’” the outlet added.

Weeks after the attempted deportation occurred, the migrant was permitted to remain in the country when his attorneys asserted that his deportation would be a violation of his human rights. In the meantime, police set about investigating his handlers for alleged assault.

During his protest to close Campsfield House, which occurred two days after his release, Mayela told the BBC, “I am here to support my friends… I have been inside here and at Colnbrook.”

Tory MP Marco Longhi told The Sun in an interview that the migrant’s case “raises serious questions about the legal process and Mayela’s right to stay in this country. My constituents are sure to be furious to discover that he has remained here on what appears to be a flimsy excuse before committing this horrific crime.”

Former Immigration minister Robert Jenrick told The Sun’s “Never Mind the Ballots” that the handling of Britain’s borders over the last 30 years has been a “disgrace.” He said the government had failed when it came to the country’s borders.

“We have failed to deliver on the promise that we made to the British public,” Jenrick commented.

Mayela remains in custody for the rape and is set to be sentenced next month.
