Former President Donald Trump is being praised for using his trial-related stay in New York City to campaign in Harlem.

After the conclusion of the second day of his hush money trial on Tuesday, he headed directly to Harlem, where he proceeded to hobnob with excited, patriotic locals who were thrilled to meet him.

While there, Trump reportedly bashed the prosecutor targeting him, Alvin Bragg, for being soft on actual crime and thus turning the neighborhood into a crime-ridden hellhole.

“It’s Alvin Bragg’s fault,” he said. “Alvin Bragg does nothing. He goes after guys like Trump who did nothing wrong. There are hundreds of murderers all over the city. They know who they are and they don’t pick them up. They go after Trump.”

Speaking of which, while in Harlem the former president visited the bodega where store clerk Jose Alba was stabbed in 2022. Recall that after the stabbing, Bragg charged Alba, prompting massive outrage.

As seen below, the multicultural crowd in Harlem lovingly welcomed Trump, despite the longtime claim from the leftist establishment media that the former president is a threat to minorities.

Among those happy to see him was the bodega’s owner, Maad Ahmed.

“I have never voted, because I’ve been working, but this time I will,” he previously told the New York Post. “We need Donald Trump back in the White House because he’s a strong guy.”

“What happened to Jose was very hard for me. Jose was defending himself from the guy who came behind the counter. All for $1 worth of chips,” he added.

Many, including Fox News’ Jesse Watters, suspect that the greeting Trump received in Harlem is a bellwether for the 2024 election.

“Donald Trump wasn’t treated like the racist dictator the media paints him as; he was greeted with love and affection by the very people the press tells you he hates,” Watters said this week on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime.”

‘Now if Harlem’s chanting ‘four more years’ to Trump—what’s November going to look like?” he added.

Trump’s visit also attracted praise from Fox News’ Stuart Varney, who noted Wednesday on Fox News’ “Varney & Co.” that the decision to force the former president to be in town every single day for his trial will backfire greatly, especially on President Joe Biden.

“Donald Trump is confined to a New York City courtroom for the weeks, and maybe months, of his trial,” Varney said. “That’s what the Biden team wants. Stop him from campaigning. What we saw in New York yesterday suggests that strategy has backfired.”

“Tuesday, after court, Trump went to Harlem. Talk about grabbing political advantage. … He was greeted by a large and diverse crowd that loved him. One woman held up a sign calling him ‘my tiger’ in Spanish. There were chants of ‘USA, USA,’” he added.

“Trump used the occasion to expand his campaign. He wants to win America’s cities. If Harlem’s reaction to him is anything to go by, he’s got a shot,” he concluded.

Democrats are for their part horrified. The proof comes courtesy The Daily Beast, a left-wing outlet that warned that “Trump’s Bodega Visit Should Scare the Heck Out of Democrats.”

“For all of Trump’s sins and lies … he drew cheers in Harlem on Tuesday. And it should scare the hell out of the Democrats that those who joined in included a working woman who should be a vote they can count on,” the piece reads.

That working woman is Sabrina Vargas, a single mother and minority who supports Trump.

“I think Biden could do a lot better,” she told The Daily Beast.

She’s among a number of Harlem natives who desperately want Trump back in office running things.
