After someone wins a UFC fight, you often hear them thank God or they give a shoutout to their country. However, it is not every day that the winner gives an impromptu economics lesson and declares their love for America and the Constitution.

According to Fox News:

MMA star Renato Moicano knocked out Jalin Turner in their lightweight bout at UFC 300 on Saturday, picking up his third consecutive victory.

Moicano then urged Americans to read a book from an Austrian-American economist.

“I love America. I love the Constitution. I love the First Amendment. “I want to carry and own f—ing guns. I love private property,” Moicano said. “If you care about your country, read Ludwig Von Mises’ 6 lessons of the Austrian Economic School mother—–s.”

Von Mises was a proponent of free markets in the face of socialism, which was spreading across Europe during his time. He fled Nazi Germany for the U.S. in 1940 and was a professor at New York University.

Moicano, who is from Brazil, took Turner down to the ground with less than a minute left in the second round. He proceeded to go on the attack and caught Turner with a few punches to the face. The refreee came over and stopped the fight.

“[It’s] a pretty big deal for a UFC fighter to talk about this,” Crowder said.

The movement has become increasingly popular in Brazil after Jair Bolsonaro’s presidency.

“The six lessons became a cultural phenomenon in Brazil and that came from the public’s frustration with the government’s mismanagement of the economy,” Crowder said.

The six lessons include Capitalism, Socialism, interventionism, Inflation, Foreign Investment, and Politics and ideas. Ron Paul is also the Counselor at the Mises Institute.

“It is something we are seeing in Brazil. I would keep my eye on it,” Crowder said. “It’s interesting to see a fighter do this.”
