The First Amendment was always intended to prohibit the government from censoring the public. It has no relation to private speech, especially at someone’s residence. And at the VERY LEAST, you would HOPE that law school students/graduates would know this. But the only thing more painful than watching this video is knowing how incredibly stupid and incompetent some incoming lawyers are.

“We have attorneys. We have attorneys,” the protestor said.

An attorney to defend your childish behavior in someone’s home? There is no right to someone’s private property, especially to use it as some asinine political stunt. The lack of common sense is astonishing.

According to The Jewish Chronicle:

A private dinner for graduating law students at UC Berkeley, hosted by the dean of Berkeley School of Law on Tuesday night, turned from celebratory to hostile after a pro-Palestinian protester began making a political speech and refused to leave the premises.

Roughly 60 third-year law students attended a dinner at the home of School of Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky and his wife, law school professor Catherine Fisk, in the first of three dinners the couple planned to host for graduating students.

While the guests were eating dinner in the backyard of the couple’s home, the protester, a Berkeley law student and registered guest of the dinner, “stood up with a microphone, stood on the top step in the yard, and began a speech, including about the plight of the Palestinians,” according to a statement released by Chemerinsky on Wednesday.

“My wife and I immediately approached her and asked her to stop and leave. The woman continued. When she continued, there was an attempt to take away her microphone. Repeatedly, we said to her that you are a guest in our home, please stop and leave. About 10 students were clearly with her and ultimately left as a group.”

Pathetic.

In a video of the incident the protester, identified as Malak Afaneh, third-year Berkeley law student and co-president of Berkeley Law Students for Justice in Palestine, can be seen addressing the guests with a microphone before Chemerinsky interrupts by shouting: “Please leave. No. Please leave. Please leave.”

At another point in the video, which is just under three minutes long, Afaneh says: “Forty thousand people are dying,” to which Fisk replies: “I can’t stop that.”

LOL. But really. It makes no sense how these people protest random individuals as if they have even the SLIGHTEST effect on the war. What, just because she is Jewish that must mean she is controlling the Israeli government? That is logically equivalent to saying the protestor has even the slightest ability to control Hamas. That is not how reality works. But this graduating law student thinks her actions were productive. But they were not. They were immature and she will need a lot of luck finding a job now, considering all it takes is a simple Google search for employers to find out she is not an ideal candidate.

Who would want to hire a lawyer who thinks she has a “First Amendment” right to protest on someone’s private property? No one. Because only a mentally incompetent lawyer would think that.

Just imagine her in court. “Your honor, my client had his Constitutional rights violated in someone’s home.”

Sorry, but you don’t have “rights” in someone else’s home.

Ignorance is a liability in and of itself.

And on top of her abhorrent behavior, this is extremely immature. Anyone who accepts a dinner invitation for the sole purpose of disrupting the homeowner’s event is reprehensible, at best.

Do you think she is more embarrassed or proud since her actions have gone viral?
