Florida Governor and former GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis stopped by Hannity Wednesday night to discuss his new anti-squatter legislation in the state of Florida.

“I doubt when you got into politics you ever imagined a day when you’d be hearing story after story after story about people commandeering other people’s homes and then other people protecting them! I know a case in New York that went on four years before they were finally — legally — allowed to take back their home.”

“It’s ridiculous. This idea of squatting, when Americans were settling the Old West, you didn’t know who owned it, there weren’t records…that was different. It was never intended that you could just go break into a house and start living there and have all these rights vested,” DeSantis said.

“Like on so many issues, what New York does, what California does — Florida will do the opposite.”

Watch DeSantis above.
