Carbon Dioxide makes up only about 0.04 percent of our atmosphere. We breathe out oxygen and it then becomes plant food. All of this information is so blatant that a second-grader should know it. But not the “climate expert” whom Democrats used as their “expert witness” to advocate in favor of passing legislation that will somehow “reduce carbon emissions.”

American Cross-Country Skiing Olympian Gus Schumacher was that expert witness who was not much of an expert on anything, as easily proved by Sen John Kennedy. It is unclear why a Cross-Country skier was chosen as the “expert witness” but it should have been pretty obvious that this man was not about to convince anyone about anything with his lack of expertise, whether that be climate-related or not.

But although this “expert” knew nothing about C02 besides the fact that “it is a gas,” he still thinks we should spend trillions of dollars to get rid of it.

According to The Post Millennial:

On Wednesday, a Democrat “expert witness” advocating for Congress to pass legislation to reduce carbon emissions was eviscerated by Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) during a Senate hearing on climate change.

American Cross-Country Skiing Olympian Gus Schumacher was asked by Democrats to come and testify to his experience with snow melting in a Senate hearing called, “Recreation at Risk: The Nature of Climate Costs.”

These people do not have much evidence to suggest that “recreation” is “at risk.” Unless of course all the other scientists with said evidence were sick last week and that is why they had to send a skier.

In a post on X, Sen Kennedy outlined his perceived absurdity of the hearing.

“Democrats want to spend $50 TRILLION to become carbon neutral & held a hearing to tell us why,” the post read.`

In a video posted by Sen Kennedy which shows the two’s exchange, Schumacher was asked what carbon dioxide is, to which he responded, “I went to high school, but carbon dioxide is a gas.”

Since he “went to high school” he presumably should have taken Chemistry. So it checks out that he would know that carbon dioxide is, in fact, “a gas.”

I wonder if he knows his nomenclature. Do you think he is aware that Carbon dioxide is one carbon atom bonded by two oxygen atoms? Because I would not be the least bit surprised if he did not know that even though that information is blatantly spelled out in the name.

“I’m not a professional to talk about carbon dioxide so much,” he added.

When pressed by Kennedy to tell him more about what carbon dioxide is, Schumacher said, “Carbon dioxide is, what I see it as, you know, a gas that exists in our atmosphere.”

“Is it a major part of our atmosphere,” Kennedy interjected.

“It’s a huge part of our atmosphere,” the skier responded.

Kennedy then revealed, “It’s a very small part of our atmosphere.”

Like many other self-proclaimed “climate experts” these people are incredibly naive and have no clue what they are talking about, as they just repeat a bunch of nonsense they hear on social media.

Schumacher went on to state that he believes there is an opportunity to use more renewable sources. Still, he was unable to give any specifics on how much we should spend tax money and over what period he thinks it should take.

“I’m not an economist,” Schumacher responded.

The funniest thing about this video is that Kennedy did not even have to try to show how incredibly ignorant these “experts” are. That is because climate scientists are political scientists. Because nothing they say is based on science. It is based on “the science.”

How many trillions of dollars will the government have to take from us to control the direction of the wind? That is unclear. But don’t go and ask the skier because all he can tell you is that CO2 is, in fact, a gas, as his expertise does not go beyond high school, according to the self-proclaimed climate expert.

It is probably wise for this “expert” to stick with skiing.
