In an interview on Friday with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum, former Vice President and Presidential candidate Mike Pence said that “it should come as no surprise” that he won’t endorse former President Donald Trump, who has sealed the Republican nomination for president.

Pence then listed various reasons as to why he wouldn’t be endorsing Trump, accusing him essentially of going against conservative principles.

In a post to X, Fox News contributor and civil rights attorney Leo Terrell unloaded on Pence after the interview aired.

“Mike Pence is a traitor to the Republican Party, MAGA and President Trump!” Terrell declared in the post.

In a separate post to X, Terrell declared, “Jealous #MikePence announced he will not vote for President Trump. I will never support a candidate who is endorsed by Mike Pence!”

In the interview, host Martha MacCallum asked him, “We have not heard from you, will you be endorsing your former president, you were on the ticket with him last time around?”

Pence responded by telling her, “I appreciate the question and it should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year.”

“I’m incredibly proud of the record of our administration, it was a conservative record that made America more prosperous, more secure and saw conservatives appointed to our courts and a more peaceful world,” Pence explained.

After listing examples of where he has recently disagreed with Trump, Pence said, “Donald Trump is pursuing and articulating an agenda that is at odds with the conservative agenda that we governed on during our four years.”

“And that’s why I cannot in good conscience endorse Donald Trump in this campaign,” Pence added.
