It’s been a three-fer podcast week for me, with the resumption of both the Ricochet podcast on Friday, a guest turn on Dany Pletka and Mark Thiessen’s “What the Hell is Going?” podcast, and then today with the all-new format 3WHH, which is moving to its own wholly independent identity at Ricochet and on my “Political Questions” Substack. We have an all-new logo for the 3WHH, as you can see nearby.
Not to worry: the old Power Line Show is going to be revived in its old interview-conversation format, and I’ve got some great guests lined up in coming weeks.
The 3WHH, meanwhile, is rebooting with some new formats. We’ll be doing some shows with a single-subject focus; on some we’ll do a round robin of hot topics and reflections on current news items, and we’ll even have some guests from time to time, as well as emergency shows when somethingbig happens—or we get a new single malt in whose virtues we just have to share.
And having completed our emigration to a new logo and format, it seemed only logical that we’d take up as our primary focus this week the issue of immigration, with an attempt at an orderly procession through the key aspects of the matter: How much is too much? Should we have an immigration pause? What’s up with the H1-B visa controversy anyway? How should skills-based immigration be done, and should we move to some kind of point- or auction system to regulate immigration.
And finally the big one: what about birthright citizenship? We throw down pretty hard on this issue, and the three bartenders nearly get into a brawl about several of these questions. So don’t think alone when you can drink it all in with us!
Incidentally, with this episode of the 3WHH, we begin featuring our very own, almost proprietary exit bumper music, provided by Cosigner, the indie rock band fronted by Professor (and frequent 3WHH listener) Stephen Tootle.
So here’s the first episode of the renovated 3WHH:
And here’s Ricochet, where James Lileks, Charles C.W. Cooke and kick the embers of the Los Angeles fires, and then talk with National Review‘s Dan McLaughlin about Jimmy Carter, and sports.
And finally, here’s my turn on the “What the Hell Is Going On?” podcast, also talking about Jimmy Carter, in case you didn’t get your fill.
