California Governor Gavin Newsom has been at the center of a firestorm over the disastrous wildfires that have raged through affluent neighborhoods near Los Angeles, and one resident suggested that he was faking a phone call with President Biden to avoid her question.

There is perhaps no greater example of the failure of Democrat leadership in the Golden State than fire hydrants without water which combined with other policy failures including the lack of clearing of underbrush, DEI, and the absence of sound water management proved to be devasting to efforts to control the inferno.

In addition to his incompetence, Newsom has long had a reputation for being an oily, insincere politician, and a video from Australia’s Sky News is a prime example of his lack of credibility with the woman expressing disbelief that he was actually on the line with Biden.

“Governor! Governor! I live here, governor! That was my daughter’s school governor,” said Rachel Dervish of Pacific Palisades. “Please tell me what you’re gonna do for her…”

Newsom reacted by showing her his phone and assuring her that he was “literally talking to the president right now to specifically answer the question of what we can do for you and your daughter,” but she was skeptical.

“Can I hear it? Can I hear your call, because I don’t believe it,” she said, after which the governor insisted that he’s been trying to get ahold of Biden five times and has been “walking around” to try to get cellphone reception.

“Why is the president not taking your call?” She asked, adding that she wanted to be there when Biden was on the line as Newsom acted like he had empathy, including telling her that he also has children.

The distraught woman then brought up the waterless hydrants.

“Why was there no water in the hydrants governor?” She asked. “Is it going to be different next time?”

“What are you gonna do?” She persisted, not allowing Newsom to slither off the hook. “I would fill them up personally, you know that… I would fill up the hydrants myself… but would you do that?”

“I would do whatever I can…” Newsom awkwardly replied.

“But you’re not!” She answered, as the governor assured her that he would make the call “right now” but the woman wasn’t buying it.

“Can I at least have an opportunity to tell people that you’re doing what you’re saying you’re doing?” she asked as Newsom got into his vehicle to flee from the very uncomfortable exchange, which has gone viral on social media.

X users reacted to the Sacramento slickster being busted.

“After hearing from Rachel, the governor immediately spoke to President Biden and, as a result of that call, the president committed to covering 100% of the response costs for the next 180 days. That’s a game-changer,” Newsom’s office later said in a statement to CBS Sacramento.
