I’m concerned about folks I know in the fire area of Los Angeles right now, and there’s already a tremendous amount of damage to the area as the fires continue to rage. A lot of people are losing their homes.

What’s particularly infuriating is the cluelessness of the Democratic leadership in the city and the state. We have Mayor Karen Bass finally deciding to come back from Ghana, and then going blank when she was questioned by a reporter. She then started talking, and maybe she shouldn’t have, because then it got worse, with her trying to refer people to a website if they needed help but just saying “u r l.”

Then, too, there are questions about reports about running out of water, and Gov. Gavin Newsom just threw up his hands and said the locals are just going to have to figure things out. Incredible.

So much for him and his presidential ambitions that may have gone up in smoke.

Then there was the reporting of ABC’s anchor David Muir on “World News Tonight.” You may recall Muir was one of the moderators during the one infamous debate between Trump and Harris. He was constantly fact-checking Trump and jumping in to help when Kamala Harris was foundering.

Muir’s reporting excited comment and mockery in this instance when producer Jack Osbourne and others noticed the clothespins that they were employing to cinch his jacket tighter to his body.

Many commented that they’d seen this kind of thing in fashion shoots or the like, but not in a live news program where someone is covering something like the massive wildfires.

People just ripped him to shreds, calling it “narcissistic.”

Megyn Kelly termed it “abject vanity” and called him an “actor.”
