President Biden has been making a series of moves in the waning day of his presidency that make it clear – he’s trying to punish Donald Trump and the American people on his way out the door.
Whether it’s commuting child murderers or handing out awards to people who got Americans killed, it’s obvious to me the bitter old man is trying to torch the country as payback for being ousted.
On Monday, he did so again. Biden, in what can only be described as a reckless move, has chosen to release 11 detainees from the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.
Some of them have been linked to al-Qaeda and were captured in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Two served as bodyguards to Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan.
“The United States appreciates the willingness of the government of Oman and other partners to support ongoing U.S. efforts focused on responsibly reducing the detainee population and ultimately closing the Guantanamo Bay facility,” a statement from the Defense Department reads.
Biden Releasing Child Murderers, Terrorists
Just weeks ago, President Biden commuted the sentences of nearly all federal death row inmates in the country. That included child murderers. Now, he’s essentially doing the same for terrorists.
Actually, it’s worse. He’s freeing them to be “resettled” elsewhere.
This decision, coming just days before leaving office, feels like a slap in the face to those who prioritize the safety and security of the United States. It’s more than just poor judgment; it’s a blatant disregard for the sacrifices made by Americans in the wake of 9/11.
These detainees, including two alleged former bodyguards of Osama bin Laden – Ahmed al-Alwi and Anam al Sharabi – have not faced charges for their supposed crimes but were held due to their threat to national security.
Now, they’re being repatriated to the Government of Oman.
With the Middle East in its current state of upheaval, releasing these men could very well mean they return to their old ways, supported by nations or groups less interested in monitoring them than in using them against Western interests.

Just Like Obama
Perhaps President Biden is just following the example set by his mentor, former President Barack Obama, who also released terrorists on his way out of office in January 2017.
Mere hours before Donald Trump was set to be sworn into office, Obama released four Gitmo detainees. That brought his grand total throughout his two terms in office to 201.
In a letter penned on his last day in office, Obama chastised Congress and implored them to shut down Guantanamo Bay.
“There is simply no justification beyond politics for the Congress’ insistence on keeping the facility open, ” he wrote.
“There should be no further releases from Gitmo,” Trump countered at the time. “These are extremely dangerous people and should not be allowed back onto the battlefield.”
Despite not being charged with specific crimes during their stay at Club Gitmo, these people are no angels. They were captured out on the battlefield. Then, you have to consider that pesky recidivism rate. A significant percentage of these terrorists go back to the fight.
“Releasing Islamic terrorists who would kill every American in the name of their god is a dangerous endorsement of terrorism,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said following news of Biden’s gift to terrorists.
Astoundingly, he did this just days removed from an ISIS-inspired terror attack in New Orleans.
