Actor and comedian Ricky Gervais shared his thoughts on the jokes he might have made if he was the host of this year’s Golden Globe Award ceremony.
In a post shared on social media ahead of the 82nd award show which ended up being hosted by Nikki Glaser, Gervais roasted entertainers like Justin Timberlake and disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. He also took a pointed shot at the Hollywood “pedo ring.”
“Sat in the bath wondering about what I would say if I were hosting The Golden Globes on Sunday. It’s been a pretty good year for material,” the star of “The Office” wrote.
Hello, and welcome to the 82nd Golden Globe awards. What a year it’s been. Hundreds of entertainers jumped at the chance to go to The Vatican to meet The Pope. Many from Hollywood. Obviously they weren’t content with only being part of the 2nd biggest pedo ring in the world… https://t.co/lK3LuoxE90

In follow-up posts, Gervais revealed the jokes he would have regaled the celebrity-studded audience with if he were hosting again.
“Hello, and welcome to the 82nd Golden Globe awards. What a year it’s been. Hundreds of entertainers jumped at the chance to go to The Vatican to meet The Pope. Many from Hollywood. Obviously they weren’t content with only being part of the 2nd biggest pedo ring in the world…” he wrote.
“Justin Timberlake was convicted of Drink Driving. If he’d have gone to jail he’d have heard the words ‘Sexy Back’ a lot more often,” Gervais continued.
“Kevin Hart said that being at one of Diddy’s parties was uncomfortable, as he wouldn’t leave him alone. Eventually he had to shout ‘Imma Midget, not a child,’” the “After Life” star added.

“I’m not gonna go so hard that anyone’s gonna be offended,” this year’s host, comedian, and actress Nikki Glaser, told Yahoo! Entertainment.
“I’ve made a point not to, and that’s not to disappoint anyone who’s hoping I’m going to pull a Ricky Gervais. I’m not Ricky Gervais. This isn’t my last Golden Globes, this is my first one. He really went hard on his last one. He was ready to burn some bridges [because] it didn’t matter anymore,” she added. “Celebrities shouldn’t be nervous because [showing they have a sense of humor about themselves is] a great opportunity for them to look cool.”
But Glaser quickly took to roasting celebrities on Sunday, mocking their efforts to prop up Vice President Kamala Harris and her doomed presidential bid.
“I am not here to roast you tonight. I want you to know that. How could I, really? You’re all so famous, so talented, so powerful. I mean, you could really do anything… I mean, except tell the country who to vote for,” Glaser said.
“But it’s okay! You’ll get them next time! If there is one. I’m scared,” she quipped.
Say hello to your roast for the night—Oops, we mean HOST for the night… @NikkiGlaser! ️ #GoldenGlobes pic.twitter.com/MVa5FQ1NoS
