Some pro football fans aren’t happy with the officiating that once again favored the Kansas City Chiefs during the reigning NFL champions’ Christmas Day game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In racking up a 15-1 record and seemingly on cruise control to an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl title, the league’s marquee team has been the beneficiary of numerous dubious calls that have been the difference in close games, the latest being what appears to have been an incomplete pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes to Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.

The controversial play came late in the third quarter of what was at the time a close game, allowing the Chiefs to keep the drive alive and score a touchdown.

Video replay seemed to show the ball hitting the ground on what was ruled a complete catch for a first down. The Chiefs quickly lined up and ran the next play, preventing Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin from throwing a challenge flag after the no-call from the officials, who some have seen as a twelfth man on the field for Kansas City throughout the season.

The refs may have missed it but fans on X called foul over yet another questionable call that favored Kansas City.

On the next drive, the rattled home team coughed up the ball deep in their own territory, allowing Mahomes to sling a dart to Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce for a touchdown that eliminated any hope for a Steelers Christmas miracle comeback by making it a three-score game, the final points in a 29-10 rout that allowed the Chiefs to clinch the home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Kelce’s touchdown to put the game out of reach shattered the team record for scores held by Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez.

The boorish Kelce finished the game with eight grabs for 84 yards with the record-breaking catch being only his third touchdown this year.

If it seems that nearly every week brings a reason for fans to suspect the games are rigged for KC it’s because the refs may as well be suited up in red.

An even more blatant call took place during the team’s Black Friday game against the hated division rival Las Vegas Raiders who were on the brink of pulling off the upset until the zebras intervened.

The Christmas Day win in the Netflix-streamed doubleheader ensures that the Chiefs won’t have to leave GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for the duration of the playoffs, a formidable home-field advantage that all but guarantees them a berth in the Super Bowl, and it’s hard to bet against them with the refs on their side.
