This is nothing short of a Christmas miracle.

Chelsea Evans of Fayetteville, NC, and her 9-month-old son have survived a head-on collision with a drunk driver – their second such accident this year.

A drunk driver crossed the center line and hit them head on, deploying the airbags and literally killing the vehicle’s battery. Evans suffered injuries to her neck, back, hand, and arms, and somehow her baby suffered zero serious injuries.

From the family’s GoFundMe page:

[Y]esterday, 12-22-24 my daughter Chelsea & her 9 month old son were headed home when she was struck & hit head on by a drunk driver. The accident caused both of them to be taken to the hospital immediately. Baby appears to be doing well at this moment, he is home resting with family. However his mom, my daughter was admitted through the trauma unit. She has a broken hand, some minor internal bleeding inside of her thoracic cavity as well as many bone contusions & airbag burns. Her car is a total loss.

Here’s the vehicle:

Evans and her fiancé are calling their survival nothing short of divine intervention.

‘It’s a miracle because the force of the impact could have easily taken our lives. However, God stepped in and saved us,’ Evans said.

This wasn’t their first time encountering a drunk driver. Back in the spring, Evans, who was pregnant at the time, was struck by another drunk driver, this time being rear-ended. The collision caused her to go into labor, and her baby boy ended up being born in an emergency c-section.

So that’s two collisions with drunk drivers in 2024 for Evans and her baby boy.

And it’s more than a miracle that both of them survive to this day!
