Jim Geraghty and Greg Corombos are the proprietors of the long-running 3 Martini Lunch podcast. In their December 23 edition they began handing out their prestigious annual 3 Martini Lunch Awards. They continue handing out the awards through New Year’s Day in categories ranging from rising star to best and worst political ideas to the stories the media ignored and the ones they could not stop talking about. In this first installment, they offer their individual selections for Most Overrated Political Figure, Most Underrated Political Figure, and Most Honest Political Figure. I am inclined temperamentally to look back in anger, but these guys do it with insight and humor.

A friend directed my attention to this edition because Geraghty pays tribute to my cousin Dean in one of his selections. ¡Ay, Corombos! In my opinion Geraghty does not quite do justice to Dean, but he certainly nails the other Minnesota connection with the award at the top of the show. Both Geraghty and Corombos bring excellent judgment to the awards they hand out in this entertaining episode.
