Remember a decade ago when statues were being torn down and everything in America was getting a new name, a la the Cultural Revolution in China?

Well, it looks like one of those new names may see a reversal when Trump gets back in office.

Sorry, PBS Kids!

Mount McKinley, named after President William McKinley (1897-1901), was renamed after a local Alaskan tribe in 2015 after Obama argued that since McKinley never visited America’s tallest mountain it shouldn’t be named after him.

The new name? Denali or, “the High One.”

The 20,000-foot peak in Denali National Park and Preserve in south-central Alaska had since 1917 been known as Mount McKinley, in honor of 25th president William McKinley, who was assassinated in 1901.

But Obama in 2015 renamed it Denali — the name the local native community preferred — a decision Trump said he plans to reverse.

Trump calls McKinley a “great president,” and promised, “we’re going to bring back the name.”

Here’s Trump:

So over the weekend we found out Trump wants the Panama Canal back, we’re purchasing Greenland, and now he’s promising to dewokify the tallest mountain in America.

Amazing.
