It’s been three months since the music mogul and rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, 55, was arrested for human trafficking and racketeering. Now, Diddy is preparing to spend his first Christmas behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Diddy’s First Christmas In Prison

Prison expert Larry Levine told Daily Mail that Diddy will be having a very lonely Christmas in “the SHU,” or Special Housing Unit. Inmates are typically given a “Christmas or holiday sack” that includes goodies like cookies, potato chips and candy. Should Diddy remain in the SHU, however, he will only get what’s available to him from the MDC commissary list.

“It’s plastic and it’s almost like a big pillow and over the years it has shrunk,” Levine explained. “It’s a bunch of crap that probably was purchased because it was out of date because the prison system sells you out of date stuff. And they’re trying to act like they’re doing the inmates a favor.”

Brutal. Expired items?

“‘I’m sure they’ll give him something, but other than this mediocre holiday bag, there’s not much more he’s going to get,” he added.

Court Cases Slow Down

Since court cases tend to slow down over the holidays, many inmates end up just sitting in their cells for long periods of time.

“Prosecutors are on vacation,” Levine said. “Judges are on vacation. Your lawyer, they’re spending time with their families. They don’t want to talk to you anyway. So you’re just sitting there isolated and in a regular institution on a holiday.”

Which is totally understandable, if also totally unfair to the accused who are actually innocent and guaranteed the right to a speedy trial.

While some inmates get visits from family, this can lead to more tension at times, according to Levine.

“There are so many people that are coming in to get a visit that they have to limit the amount of time in the visiting room,” Levine continued. “So that two hour visit you might’ve normally got, it may only be 30 minutes long.”

“This creates a lot of tension among the inmates where I’ve seen more fights break out during the holidays between inmates than any other time,” he revealed. “And I’m talking based on my 10 years of experience at 11 different places — holidays are the worst!”

Diddy was arrested on September 16 and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. The music mogul has pled not guilty to all of the charges against him.

Diddy was recently denied bail for a third time, and he remains at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His trial is set to begin in May of 2025. If convicted, Diddy is facing fifteen years to life in prison.

Diddy Is Refusing Meals

Since entering prison, Diddy has reportedly lost a considerable amount of weight. This is allegedly because he has been refusing meals.

“When he first got there, this is kind of normal because you’re going through this transition and you’re depressed,” Levine said. “You don’t know what’s going to happen. Remember Diddy’s got […] on a lot of people. He does get a lot of people in trouble. People want to kill him.”

“So what if somebody on the outside knew someone that had a relative that worked in the prison and they put something in his food?” he questioned. “A little bit at a time, then he gets poisoned, whatever it is, and it’s early checkout for Mr. Puff Daddy. They kill him. That’s another reason, another theory as to why he wasn’t eating. He was afraid the food was poisoned or contaminated.”

While this will be the first Christmas that Diddy spends behind bars, it may not be the last. Only time will tell if Diddy will ever be a free man again!
