Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen: Radical Shia Muslim, Not Ex-Muslim, Claims Iranian-German Activist
In a new development, Iranian-German activist Maral Salmassi has disputed widespread claims in the German media regarding Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen, the perpetrator of the Magdeburg Christmas market attack. According to Salmassi, Al-Abdulmohsen is not an ex-Muslim atheist, nor a supporter of the AfD or Elon Musk, as some reports suggest. She argues that these narratives, which Al-Abdulmohsen may have propagated himself, are consistent with taqiyya, an Islamic doctrine that permits deception to further Islamic goals.
Salmassi points to Al-Abdulmohsen’s identity as a radical Shia Muslim, citing his name and a collection of incriminating tweets and chat logs circulating on Arabic-language platforms like X. This evidence directly contradicts claims that he abandoned Islam and embraced atheism.
Perhaps most troubling are Salmassi’s allegations that a Saudi woman had reported Al-Abdulmohsen’s plans for mass killings to German authorities well in advance of the attack. Despite these warnings, police allegedly dismissed her concerns, failing to act on the credible threat.
Salmassi’s original tweet includes links to the tweets and chat leaks, shedding further light on Al-Abdulmohsen’s motives and the apparent negligence of authorities.
Despite claims made by the German press, Taleb Al Abdulmohsen is not an ex-Muslim atheist, nor is he a fan of the AfD or Elon Musk. While he may have spread this misinformation himself, it aligns with the practice of Taqqiye, an Islamic doctrine that permits lying and deception… pic.twitter.com/tU2tRS51Lr

Suspect Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen Allegedly Under the Influence of Drugs
Following the devastating car attack at the city’s Christmas market, BILD has reported new details from police sources indicating that Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen, the alleged perpetrator, was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident. An initial “drug wipe” test reportedly returned a positive result.
The “drug wipe” is a standard tool used by law enforcement to detect potential drug use in suspects. This quick method involves collecting saliva with a test stick, which is then applied to a test strip. The strip changes colors to indicate the presence of up to seven different drug substances.
The swab test can detect the consumption of up to seven types of drugs, including cannabis, opiates, cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamines (MDMA, ecstasy), and benzodiazepines.
German police are now reporting five deaths and 41 seriously injured. According to BILD information, 86 people are being treated in hospitals with serious injuries. 78 people were slightly injured in the attack.

Insights from Brother Rachid
Brother Rachid, a prominent Moroccan Christian author and Arabic-language TV host, has delivered a scathing analysis of Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen. Speaking candidly, Rachid dismantles Taleb’s claims of atheism, exposing the deeper motivations that align his actions with hatred toward Christians and Western values.
Actions Speak Louder Than Words
“If the Saudi perpetrator truly hated Saudi Arabia, he would have targeted Saudi Arabia, not Germany. If he hated Islam, he would have attacked Islamic gatherings or symbols,” Rachid asserted. Instead, Taleb targeted a Christmas market filled with Christians. Rachid concluded: “The thing he hated most was Christians. A terrorist’s actions are driven by what they despise the most, and his target makes his motives clear.”

The Middle Eastern Cultural Influence
Rachid emphasized that Taleb’s actions cannot be separated from the cultural and ideological indoctrination of his upbringing. “No matter the facade Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen tried to hide behind, he is ultimately a product of Middle Eastern culture, heavily influenced by Islamic doctrines that promote hatred toward Christianity and the West.”

Instead of gratitude for the asylum granted to him under Germany’s open-arms policy, Taleb harbored bitterness and betrayed those who welcomed him, turning their kindness into an opportunity for violence. “Atheism does not teach such actions, nor does Christianity or Zionism. The only ideology that consistently fosters such hatred toward Christians is Islam. Period,” Rachid declared.
The Path to Terrorism
Rachid outlined the three-step process common among terrorists:
- Indoctrination: Years of exposure to extremist beliefs, often starting in childhood.
- Trigger: A specific event or grievance that catalyzes action.
- Action: Carrying out an attack with no regard for human life.
He pointed out that Taleb, raised as a Shia Muslim in Saudi Arabia, confessed to following fatwas that permitted stealing from Christians. Even after declaring himself an atheist, Rachid believes Taleb either strategically maintained his extremist beliefs or couldn’t escape the deep indoctrination of his youth. When angered or provoked, this latent hatred resurfaced, leading him to commit the attack.

The “Mas’had” Phenomenon
Rachid introduced a term he coined, “Mas’had,” to describe individuals like Taleb. These are people who claim atheism yet remain deeply influenced by Islamic teachings, retaining hatred for the West, Christians, and women, and often sympathizing with terrorism. Taleb, Rachid argues, is a prime example of this troubling phenomenon.

Alleged Ignored Warnings About Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen Before Magdeburg Attack
According to a post on X by @Moraqeb2020, German authorities allegedly ignored multiple warnings about Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen in the months leading up to the Magdeburg Christmas market attack. A Saudi woman living in Germany reportedly alerted police in September 2023, claiming Taleb planned to use his car to target pedestrians. She also alleged that a month earlier, Taleb had tweeted threats to kill 20 Germans, which she reported to the authorities.
These warnings, according to the social media account, were dismissed by police.

Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen and the Christmas Market Attack: A Potential Case of Deception and Jihad
Renowned counterterrorism expert and author Robert Spencer, known for his work on Jihad Watch, has raised critical questions about the potential motives behind Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen’s deadly rampage through the Magdeburg Christmas market. Spencer highlights a disturbing pattern of “vehicular jihad,” a well-documented strategy used by Islamic terrorists, and points to alarming doctrinal evidence supporting such attacks.
Spencer notes that Saudi Arabia, Taleb’s homeland, is a hub of jihadist ideology. Furthermore, he points to Islamic texts, including the Qur’an (8:39, 9:5, 9:29), which explicitly calls for warfare against unbelievers. He also emphasizes that jihadist groups have repeatedly targeted Christmas markets in Germany, and recent incidents of Muslims chanting the Islamic war cry, “Allahu akbar” and “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet.”
In a thought-provoking analysis, Spencer outlines three possible motives for Taleb’s actions:
- Deceptive Intentions: Taleb may have feigned being an ex-Muslim and Zionist to mask his true jihadist intentions.
- Return to Islam: If he was a genuine ex-Muslim, he might have experienced a crisis of faith, returning to Islam and committing the attack as an act of jihad to atone for apostasy.
- Unlikely Madness: Spencer dismisses the possibility of an ex-Muslim randomly adopting a jihadist tactic as the least plausible explanation. If Taleb had simply lost his sanity, he would likely have targeted Muslims, not a Christmas market—a common jihadist target.
- Snapped: Alternatively, he may have simply snapped, experiencing a psychotic episode or similar breakdown. However, it’s telling that his impulse for “revenge” manifested in emulating a tactic commonly used by the warriors of the religion he claimed to have abandoned.
Spencer critiques the establishment media for refusing to explore these possibilities, accusing them of downplaying any link between Islam and violence committed in its name. He warns that this deliberate ignorance risks obscuring the truth about Taleb’s actions and their ideological underpinnings.
1. Vehicular jihad is a well-established practice going back years. ISIS has called for it. It is not a common practice among any other criminal or terrorist sector.
2. Saudi Arabia, where the Magdeburg perpetrator is from, is a hotbed of jihad activity.
3. Islam has doctrines…— Robert Spencer (@jihadwatchRS) December 21, 2024
As investigations continue, the questions Spencer raises demand serious consideration. Is this another case of vehicular jihad cloaked in a façade of ex-Muslim identity? Or does it reveal deeper truths about the ideological pressures driving individuals to commit such atrocities? The answers could hold vital lessons for understanding and preventing future attacks.

Suspected Saudi Christmas Market Attacker Previously Featured in BBC Interview
Taleb Al-Abdulmohsen, the Saudi man suspected of plowing his car through a crowded Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, was previously featured in a 2019 BBC article titled “The website helping ex-Muslims flee the Gulf.”
In the interview, Taleb spoke about his journey from Saudi Arabia to Germany, where he sought asylum after feeling unable to safely express his atheism. He later created wearesaudis.net, a platform designed to help others from the Arab world escape similar persecution.
The BBC highlighted his work as a lifeline for many, particularly women, seeking to flee oppressive environments. This previous portrayal of Taleb as a resourceful advocate now stands in stark contrast to the horrific accusations he faces in the wake of the deadly Christmas market tragedy.

Tragedy Strikes Magdeburg Christmas Market: Two Dead, Dozens Injured in Rampage
On December 20, 2024, a dark BMW SUV plowed through the crowded “Lichterwelt” Christmas market in Magdeburg, leaving two people dead, including a small child, and injuring over 50, with 15 critically wounded. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos and terror as the driver sped through the festive market for more than 400 meters, striking pedestrians who had no time to react.
Arrest of the Suspect
The driver, identified by German outlet Bild as Taleb A., a 50-year-old Saudi psychiatrist residing in Bernburg (Saale), was arrested shortly after the attack. Dramatic video footage shows police surrounding the suspect at gunpoint, shouting commands for him to lie down. According to authorities, the suspect has lived in Germany since 2006 under a permanent residency permit and had no known history of Islamist affiliations.
RAIR Foundation USA believes, based on available evidence and video, that the perpetrator may be Taleb Al Abdulmohsen.
The Deadly Attack
At around 7:04 PM, the SUV driver found a gap between safety bollards and accelerated into the crowded Christmas market. Witnesses recounted the horrifying aftermath, with bodies thrown by the impact and many unable to escape in time. One bystander recalled holding an injured man whose leg was severely fractured. Emergency responders worked tirelessly, but despite their efforts, a child was among those who succumbed to their injuries.

Saudi Psychiatrist Exposes Germany’s Active Operation: Welcoming Jihadis to Islamize the West While Crushing Ex-Muslim Refugees
In an explosive interview with RAIR Foundation, Saudi-born psychiatrist Dr. Taleb Al Abdulmohsen exposes a chilling reality: Germany—and much of the West—is not only facilitating the Islamization of their societies but is actively persecuting legitimate refugees fleeing Sharia oppression. Dr. Taleb, who has spent years helping ex-Muslims escape deadly Sharia punishment, now finds himself confronting what he describes as a covert and deliberate agenda carried out by the German government against apostates.
From Saudi Arabia to Germany: A Journey of Activism
Dr. Taleb Al Abdulmohsen, a trained psychiatrist originally from Saudi Arabia, currently works at a government hospital in Germany. His activism began in 2016 when a Saudi woman reached out on Twitter, desperately seeking help to escape Islamic persecution. That single request opened the floodgates. Dr. Taleb soon found himself aiding genuine refugees and asylum seekers, primarily ex-Muslims, from Saudi Arabia and beyond—including shocking cases in Western nations like Canada.
These individuals, often escaping oppressive Islamic laws or the looming threat of honor killings, represent what refugees were once understood to be: people genuinely fleeing for their lives due to religious persecution. Dr. Taleb’s work reveals, however, that Germany—a nation quick to welcome Islamic migrants with open arms—is systematically rejecting these ex-Muslims while allegedly waging covert operations to destroy their lives.
Refugees: The Silent Betrayal
The statistics are staggering. Dr. Taleb explains: “If a Syrian citizen applies for asylum in Germany, the chance to be granted asylum is 99.8%… While if a Saudi citizen applies for asylum in Germany, that chance is only 70%, and I know personally that many of those rejected are ex-Muslims. Germany is welcoming Syrians—including many Islamists—while simultaneously rejecting Saudi apostates, people who are genuinely fleeing Sharia-based death sentences.”
This discrepancy is no accident—it is the product of deliberate and targeted policies. Germany, and much of the Western political establishment, appears to prioritize individuals whose ideological and cultural beliefs align with Islamic fundamentalism while turning its back on those who reject it. Saudi ex-Muslims, many of whom face death for simply criticizing Islam, represent a group that should fit the very definition of a refugee: someone fleeing persecution for their beliefs. Instead, these genuine refugees are systematically ignored, abused, or rejected by Western bureaucracies.
The situation exposes a deliberate and disturbing agenda. Germany, while touting humanitarianism, has created a system where:
- Islamic jihadis who arrive under the pretext of seeking asylum are welcomed with open arms, often with no serious vetting or scrutiny. These migrants are disproportionately prioritized, regardless of their alignment with Islamic terrorism or their impact on Western societies.
- Ex-Muslims and apostates—those who have courageously rejected Sharia oppression—are cast aside, their asylum claims dismissed, and their lives endangered once again. These individuals, already ostracized and persecuted in their home countries, face a renewed assault on their freedoms in Europe, a place they believed would provide sanctuary.
Dr. Taleb’s firsthand experience paints a grim picture. Apostates are not only abandoned but actively persecuted by Western institutions. He describes cases where Saudi ex-Muslims’ asylum claims were rejected despite overwhelming evidence of persecution. German authorities, he explains, go to disturbing lengths to dismiss their applications, ignoring clear proof of threats or fabricating excuses to justify deportation.
This betrayal reveals a deliberate agenda. Governments like Germany’s are enabling the very Sharia-based oppression these apostates fled, weaponizing migration to undermine their own cultural and national foundations. Those who reject Islam’s totalitarian grip are punished, while those who align with its radical agenda are welcomed as protected classes.
But Germany’s betrayal of apostates goes beyond neglect—it takes a darker, more active form.
Germany’s War on Apostates
More shocking still is Dr. Taleb’s revelation that the German state is not merely indifferent to ex-Muslims’ suffering but is actively persecuting them. He accuses German authorities of carrying out “serious crimes” against Saudi ex-Muslims, including:
- Sexual abuse against female asylum seekers.
- Encouragement of drug use to destabilize refugees.
- Fraudulent deportation tactics aimed at sending apostates back to countries like Saudi Arabia, where they face execution.
- Tampering with evidence to sabotage asylum claims—including Dr. Taleb’s claim that German police stole critical evidence from his mailbox.
“It is literally committing serious crimes such as sexual abuse, pressure to lead Saudi ex-Muslims to consume drugs, donation fraud, lying… to deport Saudi ex-Muslims to Saudi Arabia to be executed there,” Dr. Taleb states unequivocally.
Dr. Taleb’s claims are backed by years of asylum records, documented harassment, and firsthand testimony from ex-Muslims who have faced persecution at the hands of Western authorities.
These are not isolated incidents. Dr. Taleb alleges that Germany’s persecution of apostates extends beyond its borders, targeting Saudi ex-Muslims wherever they may be, even if they have no plans to seek asylum in Germany.
The Silent Islamization of Germany
Dr. Taleb’s warnings echo what many on the right—and increasingly the disillusioned left—have been saying for years. Germany’s policies are not accidental but part of a broader plan to Islamize the nation. He references Der Spiegel‘s 2007 cover story, “The Silent Islamization of Germany,” which exposed this deliberate agenda long before it became politically fashionable to dismiss such concerns as “right-wing conspiracy theories.”
This agenda accelerated in 2015 when Angela Merkel’s open-door policies invited over a million migrants into Germany, cementing Islamic networks and further sidelining legitimate refugees.
Dr. Taleb, a self-described leftist, sees the betrayal of ex-Muslims as a damning indictment of modern Western leftism:
“Leftists are the worst criminals on this planet… They claim to uphold certain values, but what they do is exactly the opposite. The treatment of female Saudi ex-Muslims by Germany is clear evidence of this hypocrisy.”
A Deliberate Agenda Across the West
Germany is not an anomaly. Dr. Taleb’s work uncovers similar disturbing patterns across the West, where governments betray genuine refugees while empowering radical elements.
In Canada, under Justin Trudeau, Christian Syrians fleeing Islamic persecution were reportedly denied asylum unless they claimed to be Muslim. Trudeau’s policies favor Muslim fundamentalists while abandoning vulnerable minorities—evidence of a deliberate, ideological agenda.
The United States under Joe Biden fares no better. Mass migration policies have flooded the country with unvetted individuals, many hostile to Western values while silencing voices like Dr. Taleb’s. The consequences are devastating: fractured communities, rising crime, and parallel societies enforcing Sharia law.
This betrayal of Western citizens and genuine refugees is not accidental. It reflects a coordinated effort to destabilize nations from within, cloaked in the language of “compassion” and “diversity.”
A Weaponized Migration Crisis
Dr. Taleb’s revelations expose a grim reality: the migration crisis is not driven by compassion or humanitarianism but by a deliberate agenda to destabilize Western nations. Prioritizing unvetted mass migration over national security and cultural stability has eroded Western values, overwhelmed public systems, and fueled rising crime. These policies are not accidental but are calculated to sow chaos under the pretense of benevolence.
Meanwhile, genuine refugees—like the ex-Muslims Dr. Taleb fights to protect—are abandoned and betrayed. Western governments, while claiming to uphold humanitarian values, silence those fleeing Sharia oppression and empower ideologies that enforce it. The consequences are clear: no-go zones where Sharia law thrives, parallel societies entrenched, and cultural collapse accelerated—all masked by hollow rhetoric of “diversity” and “inclusion.
“There is something much bigger playing in the background,” Dr. Taleb warns. “What Elon Musk, Tommy Robinson, and others are saying is true. This is not conspiracy. This is reality. Governments are using mass migration as a tool of destabilization. This isn’t about helping refugees—it’s about reshaping Western nations from the inside.”
A Call to Action
Dr. Taleb Al Abdulmohsen’s interview should serve as a wake-up call to the West. His courageous activism, at great personal risk, exposes not only the cruelty of Sharia-based regimes but also the treacherous collaboration of Western governments in silencing apostates and enabling Islamization.
Despite his evidence and warnings, Dr. Taleb laments, “You are the first journalist in seven years to respond to my plea for help. This silence from Western media speaks volumes about the complicity and cowardice of our institutions.”
RAIR Foundation is proud to amplify Dr. Taleb’s story, and his chilling testimony must not be ignored. The West is under attack—not from external invaders alone, but from within. Our governments have turned against us, weaponizing migration and punishing dissenters like Dr. Taleb and the ex-Muslims he fights to save.
Protecting apostates is not just about individual lives—it is about defending the very values of free speech, secularism, and human dignity that underpin Western civilization.
It is time for citizens across the West to confront this reality. Silence is complicity. Will we allow our nations to fall, or will we rise to defend freedom, truth, and the values that once defined Western civilization?
