The allegiances of suspects alleged to have tortured two people at a Colorado apartment were said to be “without question” as the police chief looked “at the veracity and the violence involved.”

Days after border czar designee Tom Homan hoped Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain would show he “walks the walk,” 11 of 19 detainees held for allegedly committing a heinous crime at an infamous apartment were charged with felonies. During a Friday press conference, the chief revealed he had done just that as he had thus far turned eight suspects over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement while offering his opinion they were members of the Venezuelan prison gang, Tren de Aragua.
“I will say without question, in my opinion, that this is TdA activity. Some of these individuals have been identified as TdA gang members,” said Chamberlain. “It’s something that we are working very close with our partners in [Homeland Security Investigations] and [the Department of Homeland Security] to establish their relationship with gangs.”
Earlier in the week, the “fired up” official had relayed how, ultimately, 19 people had been detained after a male and female victim had been “terrorized” which included being “beaten” and “pistol-whipped” after a home invasion and kidnapping.
As of Friday, eight suspects out of 11 were transferred to the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, identified as: Andres Alexander Liendo-Padilla, Barbara Sivle Medina-Arcaya, Donarkys Teresa Suarez-Quesada, Jengrinso Elias Loreto-Petit, Jesus Alberto Alejos Escalona, Junior Reyes-Barrios, Luigi Javier Soto-Sucre and Niefred Jose Serpa-Acosta.
With the remaining three suspects outstanding, the felony charges for the 11 included aggravated robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree kidnapping, extortion and burglary while investigations continued on the six others who had been detained.

Serpa-Acosta reportedly already had an active felony warrant against him for his alleged involvement in an Aug. 18 fatal shooting that occurred after he and five other armed men were positively ID’d from surveillance footage that showed them knocking on doors at the infamous apartment complex.
“It is a real challenge to try to say, ‘Hey, 100%, you are a gang member,’” explained Chamberlain. “But when you look at the circumstances of this, when you look at the events of this, when you look at the individuals involved in this, when you look at the veracity and the violence involved in this, again, it is not a big step for me to say that they are TdA gang members.”
Homan had expressed his hope that law enforcement would do the right thing and turn over illegal aliens suspected of crimes to ICE as he planned to speak with more officials across the country in places that considered themselves sanctuary cities after meeting with New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D).
Meanwhile, after the New York Post reported that seven suspected members of the Venezuelan prison gang had been arrested during the raid of a Bronx apartment on Dec. 5, Fox News detailed that a separate raid with Homeland Security Investigations working in concert with the NYPD had taken place in Brooklyn, marking 22 TdA-related arrests that day in the Big Apple.
Regarding those in the Bronx, the ankle monitor of Jarwin Valero-Calderon, who’d been released by the federal government in Aug. 2022 with a court date after illegally entering the United States and avoided deportation in April after conviction of crimes in multiple states, had helped authorities track down the suspects at the apartment building adjacent to a daycare center.
