The House of Representatives will vote on Friday on the continuing resolution that failed Thursday minus the debt limit, according to Punchbowl News.

Jake Sherman, founder of Punchbowl News, announced the vote on Friday.

“UPDATE — just ONE VOTE,” Sherman posted on X. “[T]he bill that failed last night — without debt limit. Vote this afternoon.”

The bill will need a two-thirds majority vote to suspend the rules to pass the bill without going through a committee.

The continuing resolution is to prevent a government shutdown on Friday.

The House of Representatives’ spending bill, the American Relief Act 2025, failed on Thursday to get a two-thirds majority vote.

The final vote total was 174-235, with one lawmaker voting present. A total of 38 Republicans voted against the bill.

The original plan, a continuing resolution/omnibus bill, fell through on Wednesday as Republicans raised concerns about pork-filled spending.
