A member of the President-elect’s team has provided an update after he collapsed on stage during an event earlier this week.
Alex Bruesewitz, 27, experienced a fainting episode while introducing adviser Dan Scavino during an event at the New York Young Republican Club.
“Oh no, what I do? I’m forgetting my words,” he said in a video posted to X, right before pausing for a moment and then falling at the podium.
The video can be seen here.
In a subsequent post on the X platform, Bruesewitz said that he was recovering and thanked all of those involved in his care.
“We are back. What a surreal experience. Maybe I took my Joe Biden impression just a little too far. All kidding aside, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the exceptional medical team at New York Presbyterian Hospital. The EMTs, nurses, and doctors provided me with outstanding care. Secondly, I am incredibly thankful to all the great patriots at the @NYYRC gala who swiftly came to my aid,” his post began.
“A special thanks to Rep. @AndyOgles for staying by my side until the medics took me to the ER. Lastly, thank you to everyone who prayed for me and sent heartfelt, thoughtful, encouraging messages. I feel truly blessed to be supported by such wonderful people,” Bruesewitz went on, adding, “P.S. @danscavino, my bad for ruining your introduction. I assure you, the rest of my speech was going to be great!”

Shortly after the incident, Master of ceremonies Raheem Kassam, a former aide of British conservative politician Nigel Farage, reported that Bruesewtiz appeared to be fine.
“I talked to our friend Alex Bruesewitz, and you know what he said to me? He goes, ‘Did I at least look cool?’ I said, ‘Alex, you used gravity like I’ve seen nobody use gravity before in their lives,’” Kassam told the crowd at the Young Republicans event.
“But he’s recuperating back there, so give him a big cheer, so he’ll hear you,” he said.
Despite the reassurance, several people expressed concerns for the young Trump adviser.
“I’m here at the event. I’m praying my friend, young @alexbruesewitz , who’s just a few days younger than my own son, will make a full recovery. Please join me in praying for Alex,” Jeff Clark posted on X.
“Please pray for my friend Alex Bruesewitz as he has just passed out on stage!” Alex Stone wrote on X.
In addition, the president-elect called into the event after hearing about the incident with Bruesewitz.
“I know that Alex is going to be fine because he’s a tough son of a gun,” Trump said, adding: “There’s no doubt about that. So I want to say hello to Alex because he’s a very special guy.”
On Tuesday, Trump announced a $100 billion investment in the United States by SoftBank.
Speaking from Mar-a-Lago, the 47th president spoke alongside SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son, where they announced SoftBank’s plans to invest the funds in the United States over the next four years, creating tens of thousands of new jobs.

Masayoshi Son said his “confidence level” in the US economy has “tremendously increased with [Trump’s] victory,” adding, “Because of that – I am committing $100 billion and 100,000 jobs into the United States. This is double of last time… because President Trump is a double-down president.”
Trump said the investment was evidence of “monumental confidence in America’s future.” He playfully encouraged Son to invest $200 billion. Son chuckled in response and said that he would try.
