Bolstering a biased reputation, CBS Sports coverage of the annual Army-Navy football game was all but bereft of covering a most notable VIP.

“Betting Taylor got 20x the air time. At least.”

Saturday at Northwest Stadium, a rivalry steeped in patriotism carried on as Navy defeated Army 31-13. After zero attendance from incumbent President Joe Biden throughout his administration, the cheered presence of President-elect Donald Trump was given the afterthought treatment earning added disdain for the lawsuit embroiled media outlet.

As the GOP leader was met with chants of “USA,” conversed with Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., and mingled with administration nominees while giving acquitted U.S. Marine Corps veteran Daniel Penny VIP treatment, CBS Sports was called out over foregoing mention of Trump and limiting display of the incoming commander-in-chief to mere seconds late in the broadcast.

Challenging typical coverage of celebrities like pop diva Taylor Swift who’s reactions become a mainstay during NFL games after she began dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Outkick founder Clay Travis had asserted, “So far @CBSSports has sown President Trump on their broadcast for a total of four seconds. How much would they have shown Taylor Swift if she’d come ot the game?”

He went on to add, “It’s the commander in chief trophy the two teams are playing for, showing the commander in chief watching the game seems like a pretty significant part of the story.”

The matter persisted as others sounded off on the lack of giving room for positive coverage of the man just named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year,” and Travis went on, “CBS showed Trump on air for a total of four seconds during the Army-Navy broadcast. They showed the commander in chief trophy by itself for 35 seconds. But not the former & soon to be commander in chief attending the game. Related: the 60 minutes Kamala transcript is still hidden.”

“Would love to see the Taylor Swift on air time and discussion compared to Trump. Betting Taylor got 20x the air time. At least,” he slammed.

The networks decision to almost completely ignore Trump came as the GOP leader’s approval rating hit a seven-year high according to a Morning Consult survey that had found 50% of voters viewed him favorably compared to the 47% with unfavorable opinions.

The rating was Trump’s best since April 2017 and was only topped by his favorable opinion in March of that year.

As it happened, the coverage decision came the same day that it was reported ABC News and George Stephanopoulos had agreed to pay a $16 million settlement to Trump with an apology for how the talking head had repeatedly claimed that the GOP leader had been “found liable for rape.”

Meanwhile, a $10 billion lawsuit that Trump had brought against CBS for how Vice President Kamala Harris’ “60 Minutes” interview had been aired with questionable omissions was ongoing.

“To paper over Kamala’s ‘word salad’ weakness, CBS used its national platform on 60 Minutes to cross the line from the exercise of judgment in reporting to deceitful, deceptive manipulation of news,” read the suit in part as it was alleged the network had unfairly bolstered the vice president’s image ahead of the election.
