‘The View’ Has Become Objectively Evil, and ABC News Is Culpable

There have been a lot of awful press takes following the cold-blooded murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Unable to park their political ideology for even one second to show some basic humanity, the assassination has been celebrated by the far-left while news networks have entertained “discussions” about healthcare that are merely a stand-in for justifying the killing.

Here was CNN on Friday morning doing that song and dance. 

Perhaps no news program has gone further off the deep end, though, than “The View.” Yes, believe it or not, that show falls under the ABC News banner, which means it is supposed to have some journalist standards regarding the commentary that takes place. 

On Wednesday, Sunny Hostin, the most insane woman on a panel already full of insane women claimed that “violence is justified right now” while discussing the murder of Thompson. 

There are two explanations here, and perhaps like those Venn diagrams Kamala Harris likes so much, there’s a good bit of overlap. Either Hostin is mentally ill or she’s abjectly evil. At this point, ABC News executives need to pick one because they are sitting idly by while she defends murder to fluff her political ideology. That would seem to cross some lines, but given Hostin hasn’t been pulled off the air, perhaps there are no lines when it comes to left-wing orthodoxy and ABC News.

Whoopi Goldberg was no better, using the discussion to go on an ignorant rant about how she doesn’t get her “money back” when she doesn’t use her insurance. 

I’ve never thought Goldberg was the sharpest tool in the shed, but I refuse to believe she’s this stupid. That leaves the only other alternative, which is that she’s lying to her audience in an attempt to stoke more violence against the healthcare industry. 

The entire point of insurance is risk-pooling to reduce costs for individuals. If everyone were given their “money back” each year if they don’t use their insurance, then insurance could not exist because there would be nothing left to pay for those who went over what they paid in. Again, Goldberg knows this, but she’s such a radical ideologue that she’d go on national television and lie about it knowing that one person has already been murdered as a result. 

But if Goldberg really is just that stupid, then she has no business being the primary host of a “news” program. ABC News is culpable in all this. The longer it lets “The View” go on unchecked, the more unhinged it will become. Throwing Alyssa Farrah Griffin on the corner of the table to routinely get run over by the left-wing hosts was never a solution. 

Let’s do a thought experiment. Imagine that a Democrat president was assassinated, and conservatives celebrated the killing by citing the abuses and inefficiencies of the federal government. Would ABC News let that kind of thing happen on its airwaves? Would CNN bring on people to use the killing as a jumping-off point to discuss problems at the FBI and Department of Education? That would never happen, yet that is the exact dynamic playing out right now regarding the murder of Thompson. 

It’s morally abhorrent, and it shows just how far down the rabbit hole these mainstream press networks have fallen. It also shows why Donald Trump won in November. Americans are sick of this far-left insanity, but if ABC News and the rest want to keep leaning into that, they can suffer the consequences.
