Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest boxers of all time. A defensive genius, he won titles in five weight classes and retired undefeated–a nearly impossible thing to do in the most elemental of all sports.

Floyd has never claimed to be an intellectual, but you can’t be the best in the world at anything, including athletics, if you are stupid. It turns out that Mayweather has a strong affinity for the Jewish people and the state of Israel. So strong, that he is known for it and was recently besieged by a left-wing, probably mostly Islamic crowd in London: “Floyd Mayweather attacked by vicious mob in London over support for Israel.”

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather was attacked by a vicious mob in London over his support of Israel and the Jewish people, according to witnesses.

Mayweather, 47, was out shopping in London’s swanky Hatton Garden neighborhood when he was targeted by the brutes, videos shared on social media show.

Mayweather was minding his own business, in other words.

Members of the mob taunted the fighter, who was flanked by security, with racial slurs — and at least one person attempted to take a swing at him, the Sun reported.

A witness told the publication that the altercation erupted after Mayweather told the crowd he was “proud to support the Jews.”

Liberals are big on racial slurs, but of course no one got close enough to actually take a poke at Floyd, which no doubt would have ended badly. But a guy of his stature has to have bodyguards, whether he needs them or not. Getting into fights can do him no good.

But Floyd is doing a lot more than that for Israel:

The attack comes days after the former US featherweight champion launched the Mayweather Israel Initiative, a charity fund to support Israeli orphans.

The charity, launched on Sunday, vows to gift every orphan in Israel a free birthday present.

“Over the next year, every orphan in Israel will be visited by the Floyd Mobile and receive special birthday gifts,” Mayweather wrote. “To all the widows and orphans: Keep your heads held high as we honor the cherished memories of those who have passed.”

Mayweather has done more than this to support Israel and Israeli Jews. For example:

During a recent visit, Mayweather hosted a barbecue for Israel Defense Forces troops and also met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the history of Israel.

“It was an honor to meet with you today. Your strength and courage are unmatched, and your commitment to protecting the Jewish people and citizens of Israel is truly inspiring. Keep using your voice and never back down,” Mayweather wrote online after the meeting.

Never back down. Maybe no one but a professional fighter can say those words with such credibility.

I can’t explain it. There is nothing about Floyd Mayweather’s upbringing that would single him out as a supporter of the Jewish people. But he is a human being, and not a dumb one. He can tell right from wrong, and he has a hard-earned fortune and a platform, and–perhaps importantly–he is not afraid of anyone. So he can express his support for Israel.

Kudos to Floyd Mayweather.
