Jay-Z’s fiery response to getting roped into the investigation of Sean “Diddy” Combs preceded cryptic messages from a former protégé that followers believed were related.

Earlier this week 55-year-old Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter was named in the lawsuit against Combs who, among other charges, had been accused of sex trafficking and sexual abuse of minors. While he had met allegations that he had raped a 13-year-old with a statement and a motion to dismiss the case if his accuser remained anonymous, rapper Foxy Brown was not so clear with her reaction.

As reported by the Daily Mail, 46-year-old Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand took to her Instagram Story Monday to post a few words and emojis without context.

“Brown — who fiercely denied social media claims she had a sexual relationship while underage with the 99 Problems hitmaker in October — shared posts reading: ‘Wait’ followed by a shocked emoji and a cold face emoji,” detailed the Mail. “She also posted ‘wow’ with her final Instagram story post reading: ‘Hugging my stories, Wendy would neva’ followed by a crown emoji.”

Having collaborated with Jay-Z a number of times, including on the 1997 single “I’ll Be,” Brown had previously denied a number of claims that had been made about her regarding the rap mogul, including reports that she’d ever referred to him as a “tranny chaser.”

Regarding claims that she’d lost her virginity to the rapper when she was still a minor, she said, “The atrociousness of this story sickened me to my stomach. Any and everyone involved will be contacted by my attorney.”

“In all my years in the music industry, these are the most disgusting and disrespectful allegations I’ve ever experienced. This fictitious story…with no audio, visual or written interview, clearly was concocted with malicious intent,” Brown continued. “Jay has only been wonderful to me and my family, a great friend throughout all the years I’ve known him and we had nothing but great success as a team.”

“Beyonce, his wife, has always been gracious and sweet to me…I will not let any undercover hater create discord and disrespect my name and reputation,” she added while also claiming that suggestions she had signed a non-disclosure agreement with Jay-Z were “fake news.”

Despite her past statements, social media users sounded off with suggestions that she was getting paid by the rapper to remain silent.

Meanwhile, as Jay-Z was accused of raping a child with Combs after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, he responded to the “heinous” allegations with a statement earlier in the week demanding a criminal complaint be filed instead of a civil one asserting, “Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree? These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”

He went on to suggest he was being blackmailed into making a settlement and a motion was filed in court Monday to deny the plaintiff’s request for anonymity arguing for disclosure or dismissal as the accusers’ attorney Tony Buzbee was himself accused of running an “extortionate campaign” against the rapper.
