The left’s radicalization marked two more casualties to common sense as members bid farewell to the Democratic Party in favor of Republicanism in multiple states.

From high-profile figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard to outgoing Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, the party of “inclusion” has done a crack job of alienating members and driving them away.

Now, Florida state Rep. Susan Valdes and Webb County Judge Tano Tijerina of Texas can count themselves among those dissenting against the Overton Window’s shift to the left with their switch to the Republican Party.

In a statement issued Monday from the Sunshine State’s term-limited House, Valdes made it clear she didn’t want to waste her remaining time in the legislature as an obstructionist protesting the majority accomplishing things for constituents.

“I have spent my adult life fighting to give a voice to the people of my West Tampa home. I have done so as a Democrat partly out of habit — I come from a family of Democrats — and partly because I believed the Democrats were the party most concerned with the working families I represent,” she said before asserting, “I will not waste my final two years in the Florida Legislature being ignored in a caucus whose leadership expects me to ignore the needs of my community.”

“Our Speaker, Rep. Daniel Perez (R), has laid out a vision for the House that focuses on empowering House members to work on real problems facing our communities. That’s what I want to be a part of,” continued Valdes who added, “I’m tired of being the party of protesting when I got into politics to be part of the party of progress.”

In response to the change in designation, Perez announced, “I’m thrilled to welcome @SusanLValdesFL to the House Republican supermajority.”

Similarly, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) congratulated them both as he posted to X, “Welcome to the GOP, Rep. Valdes! Congrats to Speaker @Daniel_PerezFL on the biggest Republican majority in the history of the Florida House!”

Meanwhile, joining “Fox & Friends” Tuesday morning from the Lone Star State, Tijerina, who’s been outspoken against the Biden-Harris administration’s open border policies and economic decisions announced that he too would be hanging up his hat as a Democrat to affirm his position as a conservative with the Republicans.

“I’ve always been a conservative and the radicalization of the national Democrats pushed me away a long time ago,” he told Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt. “And for that reason, I’m proud to announce that today I will be leaving the Democratic Party and joining the Republican Party, and I’m proud of that.”

“I’ve made the decision after careful thought and prayer, and discussions with my family and community,” he told her. “And over the years I’ve watched the Democratic Party shift further and further to the left, and leaving the values that I hold dear to my heart.”
