Aaron Rodgers got into a testy exchange with a reporter on Sunday after the New York Jets suffered a devastating loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Rodgers’ Testy Exchange After Tough Loss
The Jets haven’t made the playoffs for the last fourteen years. Indeed, they haven’t made the postseason since the 2010 season, when Rex Ryan was the head coach.
Even the Jets now building their team around Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, things have only seemingly gotten worse for them. The loss to the Dolphins dropped the Jets to a 3-10 record for the season. They only have four more games left, meaning at best, they’ll end the season with a 7-10 record.
When asked about the drought after the game, however, Rodgers appeared to want nothing to do with it.
“What’s the question?” a visibly tense Rodgers said.
“I mean I’ve been here, I’ve started one year,” he continued. “I’m a part of it for one year. It’s disappointing.”

Rodgers Wants To Play With The Jets For Years
During the game against the Dolphins, Rodgers threw for 339 yards and had a touchdown pass. This marked the first time that he has thrown for at least 300 yards in a single game since December of 2021.
Though he’s 41 years-old, Rodgers has indicated that he wants to spend many years playing for the Jets.
“I just redid my house here in Jersey,” Rodgers said last week. “My goal was to play a few more years here. We’ll see I’d like to be healthy, I’d like to end on my feet. I’d like to play well and feel like I’m wanted back. If not, I will not be offended, I won’t be upset. I’ll be so thankful either way whatever happens here.”
This came after Rodgers shut down rumors that he is eager to leave New York.
“I haven’t told anybody in my life, ‘I want to play in 2025 and not in the Jets,’” Rodgers said last month.
“That’s 100 per cent false,” Rodgers claimed. “I actually said the opposite. I said that I’m going to wait and see what happens at the end of the season and if they want me back. I’ve really enjoyed my time in New York. Obviously, we haven’t had the success we’ve all wanted to have but I’ve made some great friendships in the team.
“I’ve enjoyed living in Jersey, I’ve enjoyed the time in the city, I’ve enjoyed getting to know the fans,” he continued. “And I came here to win here so I’m not jumping off ship like, ‘I definitely want to play and not in New York.’ I don’t know if I want to play yet, but New York would be my first option.”

Jets’ Interim Head Coach Speaks Out
Even so, Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins was a disappointing one for the Jets.
“We have to find a way to finish, give our best when our best is required,” said Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich. “And not getting that accomplished, I’ve got to look at myself first.”
Davante Adams, who the Jets acquired before the trade deadline, spoke out to say the the team is “playing for our pride at this point.”
Only time will tell if Rodgers and the Jets can turn this season around!
