Democrat mega-donor Lindy Li discussed Pete Hegseth during an appearance on News Nation where she voiced support for President Donald Trump‘s nominee for Secretary of Defense.

President Trump recently affirmed his unwavering support of Hegseth.

Li shared her positive take on Pete over the weekend.

“Thank you so much for having me,” Li shared.

“Well, actually, I think maybe you’re looking for someone to oppose his nomination, but I actually have personal interactions. Because I’ve been on Fox & Friends, I’ve met Pete, and he’s my fellow Princetonian.”

“I actually think he’s a pretty good guy.”

“I know, but fair is fair, right? I’m here. I’m not here to gaslight anybody.”

“I’m just here to present the facts as I know it. I know I will say a lot of people are saying his nomination is in trouble. We’ll see, he’s definitely a fighter.”

“As he told Megyn Kelly, he said Trump asked him to be ‘tough as blank,’ and he’s certainly that way.”

“And we’ll just see if Joni Ernst can come around because I feel like she’s the linchpin on this.”

Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) is a key GOP vote in the Senate’s confirmation of Trump nominees. She recently came under fire for her opposition to Hegseth.

She says she is meeting with Hegseth but has not said if she will vote to confirm his nomination.

Trump addressed concerns during an appearance on “Meet the Press” Friday.

“Looks like Pete is doing well now,” Trump said.

“I mean, people were a little bit concerned. He’s a young guy with a tremendous track record, actually.”

“Went to Princeton, went to Harvard. He was a good student at both, but he loves the military. And I think people are starting to see it.”

“So, we’ll be working on his nomination along with a lot of others.”

“He’s a very smart guy,” Trump said.

“I’ve known him through Fox, but I’ve known him for a long time. I mean, he’s basically a military guy. I mean, every time I talk to him, all he wants to talk about is the military.”
