Not all Democrats are convinced by the relentless smear campaign that’s been unleashed against Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth whose nomination is fiercely opposed by the warmongering crooks who run the swamp.

President-elect Donald J. Trump’s pick to head up the Pentagon has been the focus of media hits alleging that he’s a rapist and a drunk in a clear effort to either bully him into withdrawing or give cover to a cadre of Republican senators who will team with Democrats who refuse to confirm him.

But one Democratic National Committee (DNC) official isn’t joining her party’s pile-on with Democrats hating Hegseth for his role at Fox News as well as his outspoken criticism of the “woke” indoctrination that’s taken place in the military under the Biden regime.

“Maybe you’re looking for someone to oppose the nomination, but I actually have personal interactions… because I’ve been on Fox and Friends, I’ve met Pete, he’s my fellow Princetonian. I actually think he’s a pretty good guy,” said Lindy Li, a member of the DNC’s financial committee.

“I’m just here to present the facts as I know it,” Li said during an appearance on NewsNation’s “Morning in America,” seeming to catch host Markie Martin somewhat off guard amid the Hegseth media feeding frenzy.

“Wow, I was not expecting this from you Lindy,” she said.

“I know, but fair is fair, right? I’m not here to gaslight anybody. I’m just here to present the facts as I know it,” Li said. “I know a lot of people are saying his nomination is in trouble, we’ll see. He’s definitely a fighter. As he told Megyn Kelly, he said Trump told him to be ‘tough as blank,’ and he’s certainly that way.”

She also labeled Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) – who has been rumored to have her own eye on the Defense Secretary job – as the “lynchpin” for Hegseth’s confirmation.

“We’ll just see if Joni Ernst can come around,” she said.

Li also said that America is “the country of second chances” and urged senators to “keep an open mind” that the nominee is “a changed man.”

“This has never happened before when a nominee’s mom is going there to make the case for her son to say that he’s different, he’s changed, he’s committed to his family, he’s doubled down on his faith,” she said. “I think we should maybe extend a little bit of grace.”

Li also broke with her party on the Kamala Harris disaster, recently slamming the vice president for spending like a drunken sailor and not winning the election during an appearance on Fox News last month.

“The truth is this is just an epic disaster, this is a $1 billion disaster,” she said during an appearance on on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Saturday. “They’re $20 million or $18 million in debt. It’s incredible, and I raised millions of that. I have friends I have to be accountable to and explain what happened because I told them it was a margin-of-error race.”

“She even put videos out saying Harris would win,” Li added. “I believed her, my donors believed her, and so they wrote massive checks. I just feel like a lot of us were misled.”
