Fewer viewers are buying the B.S. that MSNBC and its stable of conspiracy-mongering racist hosts are selling with ratings now in a post-election death spiral.
In more bad news for the left-wing cable network, its audience is continuing to shrink after President-elect Donald J. Trump shellacked Kamala Harris, a candidate whom MSNBC was all-in for but lost in an electoral landslide, showing that Americans rejected the fake narrative that “Hitler” was going to steal their democracy.
The hardest hit now that viewers are tuning out is host Joy Reid, an angry white-hating bigot who continues to be an embarrassment for MSNBC owner Comcast which just announced that it was spinning the network off, raising doubts about its future.
According to Nielsen Media Research figures cited by Fox News, her show “The ReidOut” has hemorrhaged viewers to the tune of losing a staggering 47 percent of its total audience.
Since the election, the “race lady” has averaged 759,000 viewers, down from the 1.4 million for the year before the election. Worse for Reid is the deep loss among the 25-54 aged viewers which is the demographic most highly coveted by advertisers. Her show is now drawing an average of only 76,000 viewers from the money-making demographic.
Reid isn’t the only one losing viewers with other primetime hosts also crashing downward in the ratings.
“The network’s primetime lineup has lost a whopping 53% in total viewers, averaging at 621,000, and an astonishing 61% of viewers in the key demo, averaging 57,000,” according to Fox News.
Even the network’s superstar, lesbian conspiracy peddler Rachel Maddow isn’t immune to the MSNBC viewer exodus.
Maddow saw her weekly show plummet from 2.4 million viewers in the lead-up to the election to 1.4 million afterward, a stunning 43% plunge. More alarming is the drop among the key demographic where she lost 56% and is now averaging a mere 103,000. Even though Maddow is the only primetime MSNBC host to maintain six-digit viewership with the demo, it’s putting lipstick on the pig.
Maddow wannabe Chris Hayes lost 56% of the key demo viewers in the 8 p.m. timeslot. Down from 166,000 before November 5 to a paltry 73,000 after Harris’s loss. The prissy bespectacled propagandist has lost more than half of his total viewers, dropping from 1.5 million to 728,000.
On her Monday night show, former Biden White House spox Jen Psaki has lost a massive 53 percent of her viewership, down to 710,000 viewers and only 57,000 in the key demographic.
Alex Wagner, who has been holding down Maddow’s 9 p.m. ET time slot for four days a week, also lost over half of her viewers after the election, now pulling an average of 660,000 and a mere 72,000 in the key demographic.
Volatile host Lawrence O’Donnell of “Last Word” also took a post-election hit, losing over 40 percent overall as well as the key demo.
Trump’s win has sent MSNBC spinning into turmoil amid the scandal over host Al Sharpton being paid for a fawning interview with Harris weeks before the election, and the coming spinoff into a new entity called SpinCo which could strip it of its NBC branding.
