Just before noon on Friday, the news dropped that the jury in the Daniel Penny case could not reach a verdict:

Penny is charged with manslaughter and negligent homicide. The jury cannot consider the latter charge without agreeing on the first.

The jury has asked to review crucial evidence in the case during its deliberations.

Because New York City is so far to the left on social issues, people have been hoping against hope that there would be one brave person who would stand up for common sense – one brave person who would refuse to pervert justice by convicting Penny for the courageous act of protecting his fellow New Yorkers.

As of right now, an acquittal is possible if the juror(s) who are refusing to pronounce Penny guilty stick to their guns.

Reports as of 2 p.m. EST are that the majority of the jury is leaning toward acquitting.
