There can be no doubt that Pete Hegseth is enemy #1 for the media these days as they have launched an all out blitz against Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense.

Our EIC went into the battlefield on behalf of Pete the other day, and if you missed it you ought to read it now.

But of all of the disgusting and, frankly, embarrassing attacks on Hegseth it should come as no surprise that Washington Post takes the cake.

Here’s Alex Horton, the paper’s military reporter:

Yes this journalist has made it his mission to degrade Hegseth’s service to our country.

Bronze Stars are given out like candy, kind of like Pulitzer’s to the Washington Post, and therefore we shouldn’t care about Hegseth’s service in the military.

Here’s Alex:

Military experts say there is a mistaken belief among much of the American public that the Bronze Star is a rarefied award exclusively for battlefield heroics, which has distorted and inflated its significance in many cases. The U.S. military issues two versions of the award: one with a ‘V’ device denoting valor in combat, and the other for commendable job performance on deployments, or ‘meritorious service’ in military parlance.

The Bronze Stars listed in Hegseth’s official records fall into the latter category, according to his official service records. Such awards were issued somewhat liberally throughout the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, experts say.

Oh! The unnamed “experts” say! Then we must defer to the “experts” once again. I am so glad I never have to think for myself anymore!

Yeah, just one quick question for you, Alex, how many times have you picked up a weapon and gone into battle on behalf of your country? What battles have you faced? Other than the storied conflict at the WaPo printer paper jam of 2019, of course.

Let’s take a look at how WaPo has covered Brown Stars in the past:

And check this out:

The Bronze Star is so meh that the governor of Maryland lied for years, claiming he had received one.

The double standards are out of this world!
