NBC’s Chuck Todd lamented the seemingly irreparable “damage” done to the Democrat Party when President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter.

In a segment on “Meet the Press,” Todd noted how Biden used the “exact same rhetoric” as President-elect Donald Trump to describe the justice system, calling it “long-term damaging” to the party.

Todd’s shocked dismay was mocked on social media where users noted that many Americans and Trump supporters saw it all along even while legacy media shilled for Democrats like Biden.

“Waking up,” wrote Dilbert creator Scott Adams in a post reacting to the video clip.

“A statement that Joe Biden made in and around the pardon, where he essentially uses the exact same rhetoric that Donald Trump uses about the justice system that, you know…it was biased against Hunter Biden,” Todd said.

“I mean, you could have literally said, I could have said to you, did Donald Trump say this or did Biden say this? And a lot of people might have said, this is something Trump would say. It’s not something we were used to Joe Biden saying about the rule of law and about the justice system,” he continued.

“Well, now you have, so forget who started it. You have the leading Democrat in America and the leading Republican in America both agreeing on one thing, the Justice Department has been politicized,” Todd declared.

“That is absolutely damning, that is long-term damaging. This is no longer short-term damaging,” the shocked NBC analyst added.

“It goes back to, should he have ever run for president in the first place?” he said. “Really, it’s gut-wrenching. It makes the phrase Shakespearean more relevant in this case than I think any political story I’ve covered.”

Todd blasted the “selfish” decision by Biden to run for office during a discussion with CNN’s Chris Cillizza.

“I followed the Hunter Biden trial very closely,” Todd said. “You read the Hallie Biden transcript, and that’s Beau’s widow. And essentially he turned her into a crack addict. And this was all happening in 2017, 2018. And Joe and Jill Biden were so concerned about their family that they decided to run for president.”

In an article published Wednesday, Todd contended that Biden “made a huge mistake, and it really is going to make a lot of people question everything they thought they understood about him in public service.”

“Joe Biden had a choice between what was best for himself and his personal conscience and abiding by the oath he took as president. And he may have done what was best for his family, but he did not do what was in the best interest of the nation,” he added.

Social media users on X blasted the former “Meet the Press” host for his belated ‘lightbulb’ moment.
