Senator Ted Cruz didn’t pull his punches when he discussed the hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe visiting President-elect Donald Trump.

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have been taking heat from the left after they made a trip to Mar-a-Lago, and now Cruz is getting in on the action. During a segment with Fox News’s Sean Hannity, Cruz joked about the pair kissing Trump’s ring, and insinuating they may have “kissed a little lower than that.”

“And then it goes further, then you have Joe and Mika going to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring and suck up to Donald Trump, you make — you can’t make that story up,” Hannity said.

“Well, I’m not even sure they were kissing the ring,” Cruz responded. “I think they were kissing a little bit lower than that.”

“I mean listen, they’re desperate. There are three viewers that watch Morning Joe and two of them are blood relatives to Joe and Mika. I mean, it’s– they’re desperate for relevance and it is, look, America– I gotta say, there’s an excitement in Texas. People are excited. People are excited about a Republican administration, a Republican Senate a Republican House. Excited about inflation coming down, energy prices coming down, America becoming energy-dominant again. People are excited we are going to secure the border, stand up to criminals and people are excited about ending the wars and standing with our friends and allies. I think this is really remarkable time right now.”

Cruz isn’t the only one giving the host of Morning Joe a ribbing. Donald Trump Jr. took a moment to call them out on the hypocrisy of meeting with a man the left has vilified as “Hitler” for months.

“I mean, I think MSNBC deserves to go the way of the dinosaur as they’ve proven that these are not impartial people, they are not spreading news, these are purely propagandists,” he said during an interview with Newsmax host Rob Finnerty when asked why his father agreed to meet with them. “But he’s gonna listen to everyone. He’s gonna have to lead America, not just MAGA America or America First America, even if that’s the popular vote, even if that’s a majority. He’s got to lead America for all Americans. He’s gonna hear from everyone and then he’s gonna make up his own mind, so I think it was noble for him. I don’t know that they’re gonna be noble back. I think once he gets into office, it’s gonna be convenient for them for ratings purposes to try to hit him and attack him at every angle, but you know, it’s good to see at least one person magnanimous in all of this after the last nine years of constant, you know, barrage of attacks.”

“Two weeks ago, they were calling him Hitler, and now they’re traveling to Florida to meet with Hitler, the person they called Hitler,” Finnerty pointed out.

“Yeah, it’s hard to believe. I mean, I wouldn’t go and meet with Hitler, but that’s just me. Maybe it was all nonsense all along,” Don Jr. mused. “Maybe I’m just a rational being, but it would be nice to bring some common sense back to Washington, and hopefully, we get some of that finally.”
