Staunch ally Kash Patel, who President-elect Donald Trump tapped on Saturday to lead the FBI in his incoming administration, shared his take on the infamous Jan. 6 character Ray Epps during a recent podcast discussion about the so-called January 6 “insurrection.”

Patel left little doubt about the role he believes Epps played leading up to that fateful day.

“I think as a former federal prosecutor and a public defender who defended a lot of these types of cases, what you need to show is whether or not the FBI and government agents were using undercover operatives and informants on the day of January 6,” he said. “Because if you can show that you know they’ve been at — hang on, but the paperwork shows, having run informants, that’s a six-month buildup minimum.”

“Once you prove that, then you defeat the ‘insurrection’ narrative with the FBI’s own documentation — forget what the videotape shows,” Patel added.

It was at this point that Epps name came up in the discussion.

“Ray Epps was on FBI’s most wanted list one day, and the next day he was off,” Patel observed. “There are only two ways that happens: you die, or you are an informant.”

And make no mistake, Ray Epps is very much alive.

Interestingly, as FBI director, Patel would be in a position to remove any doubt about whether Epps was a bureau asset. This fact alone assures a tough confirmation battle from Democrats lies ahead and you can be sure their media allies will be fully invested in preventing a Senate stamp of approval.
