So here we are. Another Thanksgiving has rolled around. Much in America has changed since Thanksgiving 2023; some of it for the better, some of it not so much.
Needless to say, social media is chock full of “Happy Thanksgiving!” messages and memes, today. Images of traditional turkey dinners with all of the traditional fixings abound, followed by like-responses in users’ threads.

President-elect Donald Trump also posted a “Happy Thanksgiving” message this morning on Truth Social.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed, and will always fail, because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our Nation just gave a landslide victory to those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Don’t worry, our Country will soon be respected, productive, fair, and strong, and you will be, more than ever before, proud to be an American!
The coming months will tell the tale — including, and most importantly, the behavior of the “radical left lunatics.” Yeah, don’t hold your breath.

Incidentally, enthusiastic, sometimes controversial, holiday messages have become something of a tradition for Trump. On New Year’s Day 2019, he posted an all-caps message to his followers, including “the haters and the fake news media,” and called for everyone to “just calm down and enjoy the ride.” I loved it — because it was not only written in classic Trumpian style; it was also spot-on.

Anyway, earlier in November, the president-elect sat with lame-duck President Joe Biden for the traditional post-election meeting of the outgoing and incoming president. The purpose of the meeting is to show the country that a peaceful transition is paramount.
After the meeting, Trump told the New York Post:
You know, it’s been a long, it’s been a long slog,” the 78-year-old said during a phone interview as he left Washington. “It’s been a lot of work on both sides and he did a very good job with respect to campaigning and everything else. We really had a really good meeting.
While Biden, of course, appeared to be totally out of it, Trump seemed to be not only genuine in his interaction with the 82-year-old president; he was also more than gracious, as he sat across from a man who had continually called him a threat to America — and worse.

Thanksgiving aside, it’s hard to fault Trump for his sentiments — and I do not — yet one could posit his Thanksgiving post was also a missed opportunity to continue his post-election comments about unity and truly making America great again for all Americans. I still believe he will do exactly that, including for the leftist loons who don’t even know it — and would never admit it if he does.

The Bottom Line
Wishing all of you a truly happy day, hopefully with loved ones, friends you value, and others, including some who may look to you for hope or support — or you to them.
And please, while this is a day to consider and celebrate the important things for which we are truly grateful, it’s also a day to be kind to others, whether you agree with the choices they make or they disagree with yours.
It’s not always easy, as you know I know, but nevertheless, we show our better selves when we do so.
