Loudmouthed actor Alec Baldwin epitomizes the unsavory character who just doesn’t know when to shut up, and true to form, the actor sneered down at Americans while waxing about how uninformed they are in the aftermath of President-elect Donald Trump soundly defeating Kamala Harris earlier this month.

Baldwin spoke to the press at the Torino Film Festival in northern Italy, where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award — typical of Baldwin, he was critical of a “vacuum” in the media while setting the condition that reporters at the press conference could not ask any questions about the ‘Rust’ shooting, where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed with a prop gun, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Television news in the United States is a business. They have to make money,” Baldwin said. “There’s a hole. There’s a vacuum. There is a gap, if you will, in information for Americans.”

“Americans are very uninformed about reality – what’s really going on,” he continued. “With climate change, Ukraine, Israel… You name it, all the biggest topics in the world, Americans have an appetite for a little bit of information.”

Baldwin takes a stance that anyone who doesn’t agree with his take on reality is uninformed but keep in mind that the left has a stranglehold on media in America, dominating on television, in print, and online.

He offered praise for the elitist film industry in trying to fill the gap.

“That vacuum is filled by the film industry,” Baldwin said. “Not just the independent film industry, not just the documentary film industry – which are very important around the world. But by narrative films, as well. Where the filmmakers and the buyers, the studios, and the networks and the streamers, are willing to go that way. They’re willing to try it.”

Careful to avoid using Trump’s name, the actor was asked by The Hollywood Reporter about his concerns and hopes after the incoming administration and opted to push alternative energy sources instead.

“There are many challenges to face,” Baldwin said. “The environment, the problem of plastic, of permafrost: There are plastic molecules in every corner of the planet. These are the real problems to solve.”

“It will be necessary for every building to have an alternative energy component,” he continued. “Every hospital, school, airport, and government building will have to have photovoltaic panels on the roof. We must force states to work on alternative energy sources. But we will never get rid of oil and gas. Can you imagine an ambulance car or a fire department car that runs on electricity and has to be refueled at a charging station?”

The world premiere of the film “Rust” was held last week at Poland’s Camerimage Film Festival, and the mother of Halyna Hutchins boycotted the event while denouncing Baldwin.

“Alec Baldwin continues to increase my pain with his refusal to apologize to me and his refusal to take responsibility for her death,” Olga Solovey said in a statement to Deadline.

“Instead, he seeks to unjustly profit from his killing of my daughter. That is the reason why I refuse to attend the festival for the promotion of ‘Rust,’ especially now when there is still no justice for my daughter,” she added.

The grieving mother is suing Baldwin and the production — Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter for the shooting, but the case was dismissed in July over allegations that prosecutors suppressed evidence.

For what it’s worth, Baldwin recently spoke about how “traumatized” his wife, Hilaria, is over the tragic shooting while stating that he has no plans to watch the final cut of the film.

“My wife has been very, very traumatized from this,” he told Variety. “There has been a lot of pain. When you are married to somebody and everything was going fairly well and we had seven kids … and the floor falls out. It’s very frightening and very disturbing. And we are trying to get the wind in our sails, to get away from this stuff. Because the film doesn’t stand by itself. It’s always going to be overshadowed by this.”
