U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) will head up a subcommittee working with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, and she shared some thoughts on cutting government waste Sunday during an appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures.
Included among the recipients of federal funding that could be on the chopping block is NPR, which Greene said was “nothing but Democratic propaganda.”
“We will be looking at everything from government-funded media programs like NPR that spread nothing but Democrat propaganda,” Greene said. “We will be going into grant programs that fund things like sex apps in Malaysia, toilets in Africa, all kinds of programs that don’t help the American people.”
“I want to talk to the people at the Pentagon and ask them why they can’t find billions of dollars every single year and why they fail their audit, but not just that,” she continued. “I’d like to talk to the governors of sanctuary states and the mayors of sanctuary cities and have them come before our committee and explain why they deserve federal dollars if they’re going to harbor illegal criminal aliens in their states and their cities.”

Greene told host Maria Bartiromo her panel will look to “cut programs, contracts, employees, grant programs, you name it, that are failing the American people and not serving the American people’s interests.”
As for NPR, the public broadcasting organization has insisted that it receives “less than 1 percent of its $300 million annual budget” from the federally funded Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), but Fox News reported that “a deep dive into the data shows CPB funds smaller stations that funnel cash to NPR.” In effect, “a good deal of its budget comprises federal funds that flow to it indirectly” due to the 1967 Public Broadcasting Act, according to Howard Husock, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.
Back in April, President-elect Trump called for cutting federal funding in response to a bombshell essay by NPR senior business editor Uri Berliner, who said the 2016 election encouraged journalists at NPR to find ways to “damage or topple” his presidency.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump said in all caps: “NO MORE FUNDING FOR NPR, A TOTAL SCAM! EDITOR SAID THEY HAVE NO REPUBLICANS, AND IS ONLY USED TO ‘DAMAGE TRUMP.’ THEY ARE A LIBERAL DISINFORMATION MACHINE. NOT ONE DOLLAR!!!”

We are funding left-wing propaganda with our taxes.

NPR is just another taxpayer funded mouthpiece for the left, pushing their agenda while ignoring the will of the people. Defunding them is a win for free speech and truth.

Take it public via an IPO.
Proceeds to reduce debt/deficit.
They should be able to survive on their own in a capitalist system
Citizens can buy shares, or not. Their choice
