Conservative firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is set to work alongside Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy on a newly formed subcommittee tasked with eliminating wasteful spending and inefficiencies within the federal government.
Dubbed ‘Delivering on Government Efficiency’ (DOGE), the subcommittee will launch in January and be led by Chairman James Comer (R-KY).
As Musk and Ramaswamy outlined in a recent op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, the main goal will be to reduce bureaucratic overreach and return control of the federal government.
Comer emphasised the subcommittee’s alignment with the MAGA agenda during an interview on Fox News
“DOGE will focus on eliminating government waste, streamlining federal operations, and cutting red tape that’s stifling jobs and increasing costs for the American people,” Comer told Fox News Digital.
“I look forward to working with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy to deliver on these goals to Make America Great Again.”

Rep. Greene weighed in on her new role as Chair of the new subcommittee:
“I’m excited to chair this new subcommittee designed to work hand in hand with President Trump, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and the entire DOGE team,” Greene said. “We will identify and investigate the waste, corruption, and absolutely useless parts of our federal government.”
She also stressed the importance of transparency and public accountability, saying that hearings would provide “truth to the American people” and that “no topic will be off the table.”
“Some bureaucrats will be getting a pink slip,” Greene added.
DOGE will pivot toward addressing structural inefficiencies and waste across federal agencies.
A spokesperson for Ramaswamy expressed optimism following his recent meeting with Comer:
“A key step to driving greater efficiency in government is exposing the problem to the public — we are grateful that the House Oversight Committee has created a subcommittee to focus on this work. We look forward to working together.”
President-elect Trump said DOGE would be an ambitious and transformative move to end wasteful government spending.
“Republican politicians have dreamed about the objectives of DOGE for a very long time,” Trump said, calling the initiative “the Manhattan Project of our time.”
